About From Sketch to Mannequin: The Design Process
In our design classes, you do not just draw; you learn to construct. Before a single stitch is made, you will master the art of croquis drawing and fabric rendering. Whether you are sketching a simple kurta or a complex evening gown, our instructors teach you how to translate your creative vision onto paper, ensuring you understand fabric drape and pattern placement before ever touching a sewing machine.
From Concept to Reality
We believe that design is a structured process, not a guessing game. Our fashion illustration course is designed to take you from a blank sheet of paper to a fully realized design that is ready for the sewing table.
What You Will Actually Do
- Figure Drawing: We start with the basics, teaching you how to sketch fashion figures (croquis) so your designs look professional and proportional.
- Fabric Rendering: You will practice techniques to make your sketches look like real fabric. Whether it is the flow of georgette, the sheen of silk, or the heavy texture of velvet, we show you how to capture that on paper.
- Technical Sketching: A beautiful design is useless if it cannot be built. We teach you how to add technical notes to your sketches—labels for cuts, seam placements, and finishings—so you or your tailor can bring the design to life exactly as you imagined.
Why This Matters
Many students come to us with a lot of passion but no idea how to turn their ideas into a pattern. By focusing on the illustration phase in our Noida studio, you learn to spot design flaws early, save fabric, and refine your aesthetic. This is the foundational skill required for our professional diploma in fashion design.
Whether you dream of designing for your own boutique or want to build a portfolio for a job, understanding the design process is the most critical step. We provide the guidance and the space to experiment with different styles, from western wear to traditional Indian silhouettes.
