Whether you are a total beginner or looking to refine your Raags, I am here to help. Let’s make music that touches the soul, starting with the basics of Sargam and the magic of the harmonium.

Our dedicated online student, Mr. Rajagopalan from Thanjavur, practicing 'Raag Khamaj' on the harmonium. He comes from a family with a rich Carnatic music history.

A look at a miniature harmonium, a special Bombay-made edition. It's a beautiful instrument that I sometimes use in our Vasant Panchami celebrations.

A group of students learning from their teacher on the harmonium. We often conduct group sessions for learning patriotic and devotional songs.

This graphic explains the 'Bhairav Scale' on the piano, which we teach to kids for its powerful connection to the soul, rooted in ancient Indian classical music.

Our talented online student Naisha from New Delhi performing a bhajan program on her harmonium. We are proud to nurture such young artists in Indian music.

An infographic from our 'Harmonium Paathshala' series, explaining the G# or Ab Major scale for kids and female vocalists.

"Do Good, Be Good, Have Good." Another post from our Harmonium Paathshala, encouraging students to learn sangeet on instruments like the harmonium and piano.

A new batch for kids starting with the devotional song 'Leke Prabhu Ka Naam'. We begin our Indian music lessons with a spiritual foundation.

A new student practices her vocal pitch by singing along with the piano. Correct ear training is the first and most crucial step in learning Indian classical vocals.

Two young siblings practicing 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' on the harmonium. It's wonderful to see families learning music together.

About Harmonium & Indian Classical Music

I focus on your ear first. Before we jump into complex songs, we spend time on pitch and basic Sargam. It is not about playing fast; it is about playing right. Whether you are learning a simple devotional bhajan or a complex Raag Khamaj, I make sure you understand the 'why' behind every note.

Learning the harmonium is a journey of understanding frequency and soul. Many students come to me thinking it is just about pressing keys, but true Indian Classical music starts with the basics of Sargam—Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa. I teach students to listen to the pitch before they even touch the instrument.

My classes are built on real, progressive learning. We don't chase fast results with fake certificates. Instead, we break down scales like the powerful Bhairav or the melodic Raag Khamaj so you can actually feel the music. I share pre-recorded reference videos via WhatsApp for your home practice, bcs I know that's when you really learn.

Whether you are joining my offline batches in Kandivali, Malad, Virar, or connecting via Google Meet from anywhere in India or the USA, the method is the same:

  • Foundation: We start with ear training and pitch correction.
  • Practical: We learn through actual songs, whether it is a Bhajan, a Bollywood classic, or a traditional Bandish.
  • Flexibility: Kids learn through rhymes and fun, seniors learn at a pace that works for them, and adults get a space to unwind.

I have seen students as young as 5 and as wise as 70+ pick up the harmonium. If you are ready to learn the right way—without the pressure of being perfect—let's start.
