Hands-On 3D Art Workshops for Kids
Get messy and creative. From clay modeling to texture paste landscapes, we help kids build art that pops off the page.
I love seeing a project come to life from start to finish. This video shows a student creating a 3D landscape, from applying texture paste for the mountains to painting the final details. Her happy smile with the finished piece says it all.
During our summer art camp, the kids worked on both 2D and 3D projects. This image shows a student's colorful macaw painting, which was part of a session where they also created 3D butterfly sculptures to go with their jungle theme.
About Hands-On 3D Art
Unlike standard drawing sessions, these workshops are about tactile exploration. When your child uses texture paste on MDF boards or molds air-dry clay, they learn how to manage materials that do not dry instantly. We guide them through the messy process of layering, waiting for parts to set, and adding finishing varnish so they take home a piece that feels like a real sculpture.
Bringing Art to Life
Kids often get used to 2D paper, but 3D art changes how they see the world. When they build a relief landscape or sculpt a figure, they have to think about depth, structure, and weight. It is not just about the final showpiece. It is about the process of molding, pasting, and painting.
What We Actually Do
In these sessions at our Spaze Privy studio, we move beyond pencils. We use:
- Air-dry clay for sculpting figures and small shapes.
- Texture paste to create mountains, rivers, or raised details on MDF boards.
- Varnish to protect their creations so they last longer.
It gets messy, and that is the best part! I ensure every child gets the attention they need to handle tools like palette knives or sculpting sticks safely. Whether it is a monochromatic coffee painting with raised elements or a colorful 3D jungle scene, every student learns to work with different consistencies and drying times. This is the perfect space for kids who like to touch, feel, and build with their hands.
