Dojo Training: Technique and Sparring
Sparring is where technique meets reality. See how we break down combat drills and live action to build the speed, precision, and fight IQ of a true martial artist.
Sparring is essential for developing timing and reflexes. Here, my students practice their punching combinations in a controlled drill while I observe and guide their technique from the sidelines.
Repetition builds muscle memory. This video shows a group of students practicing the Ura Mawashi Geri (hook kick), a dynamic and effective kicking technique in kumite.
Precision is just as important as power. In this drill, a student practices the accuracy of his Ura Mawashi Geri by aiming for a small target, improving his control and targeting.
This is a light sparring drill focusing on distance management and executing a clean Mawashi Geri (roundhouse kick). Consistent practice like this prepares fighters for real-match scenarios.
About Dojo Training: Technique & Sparring
Sparring is not just about trading blows, it is about controlling the fight. In my dojo, you are not here to just hit pads, you are here to manage distance, read your opponent's movement, and execute combinations like the Ura Mawashi Geri under pressure. If you cannot land a clean strike while someone is actively defending, you have not mastered the move yet.
Every session in my academy is about preparing for a real match scenario. We start with the fundamentals—proper stance, balance, and movement—before moving into advanced Kumite drills. You will often see students using hurdles and agility ladders to improve footwork, because a faster fighter is a harder target to hit.
We do not do choreographed movements here. You will practice shadow boxing and focus mitt drills to build power, but the real work happens during live sparring. This is where you learn to control your adrenaline, manage your breathing, and find the opening for a counter-attack. It is an intense environment designed to sharpen your reflexes and expose gaps in your technique that you would never notice during solo practice.
Whether your goal is weight loss, self-defense, or competing for a spot in the Indian Army or Assam Rifles, the foundation remains the same: discipline and repetition. You train the technique until it becomes muscle memory. Classes are held at my Sector 45, Noida facility on 25mm EVA mats. We keep group sizes manageable to ensure I can watch every student's movement and correct their form in real-time. If you want to stop guessing and start training like a competitor, come join us.
