About Competition Highlights
Competitive karate is about more than just knowing the moves. It is about timing and pressure management. In our kumite sessions, we drill specific reactions—controlling the distance, feinting to draw out an attack, and executing clean, point-scoring strikes. These are the same techniques that have helped my students secure medals at the Victor Cup and earn sports quota selection for the Indian Army and Assam Rifles.
Winning a medal at the national level does not happen by accident. It is the result of thousands of repetitions in the dojo, learning to stay calm when your opponent is attacking. My approach to competition training strips away the unnecessary parts of fitness and focuses strictly on what wins matches.
We structure our kumite drills around three pillars:
- Speed and Reaction: Using agility ladders and pad work to ensure your strikes land before your opponent can adjust.
- Tactical Sparring: Live combat practice where we recreate tournament scenarios. You learn how to read an opponent, identify their weakness, and counter immediately.
- Mindset: A champion does not panic when trailing on points. We train you to maintain focus from the first second to the last buzzer.
This is not a casual fitness class. When you join the competition batch at our Sector 45 dojo, you are signing up for serious training. My students are currently competing in tournaments across the country, and we have a proven track record of getting athletes selected for the Indian Army, SAI, and Assam Rifles. If you have the discipline to push yourself through our advanced drills, I have the experience to get you to that national podium.
