A Day at the Dojo: Building Discipline and Strength
Step into our dojo and see how we train. Here, we focus on repetition, correct form, and building the spirit. Oss.
This is our dojo. Students learn together, practicing their stances and punches in unison. Repetition is how we build strength and muscle memory.
Safety is first. Before you learn to fight, you must learn how to fall. I am showing the students here the proper way to do a forward roll to protect themselves.
I am leading the class in the Taikyoku Shodan kata. Every student must watch, listen, and move together. This is how we build discipline as a group.
About A Day at the Dojo
We practice in a rooftop dojo with proper safety mats, focusing on the mechanics of each move. You do not learn karate by reading, you learn it by feeling the weight on your legs and repeating the same punch until your mind goes quiet and your body knows exactly what to do. Every class is about that transformation from thinking to doing.
Karate is not just a collection of kicks and punches, it is a way of life. At our dojo, we follow the traditional Shorin Ryu Shorin Kai style. This is why our classes are structured to build more than just physical strength.
The Training Routine
- Kihon (Basics): We start every session with basics. Stances must be solid. If your foundation is weak, your technique will fail. Ichi, Ni, San, Shi — we count and move together.
- Kata (Forms): This is where you learn focus. You will practice Taikyoku Shodan until your form is sharp. It is about precision and balance.
- Kumite (Sparring): Once the basics are in your muscle memory, we move to light contact sparring. We teach you to control your strikes and understand distance in a safe environment.
- Kobudo (Weapons): We introduce Nunchaku drills to teach control. You learn to handle weapons safely, with discipline.
Our facility in Kudlu and across Bengaluru is equipped with EVA puzzle mats to keep training safe. Whether you are coming for self-defense or tournament preparation, remember: sweat is the price of skill. Mehnat lagti hai. If you are ready to put in the work and train with consistency, you are welcome in my dojo. Oss.
