Daily Community Feeding & Care for Delhi's Street Dogs
Feeding is where it all starts. Our daily drives across Delhi NCR aren't just about meals; they are how we build trust, identify health crises, and pave the way for humane sterilization.
Our ambulance isn't just for rescues, it's a mobile kitchen. Here we are during our Mayur Vihar feeding drive, distributing fresh food to the community dogs.
Our work doesn't stop when the sun goes down. A volunteer feeds a large pack of dogs along the roadside at night, ensuring no one goes hungry.
We often venture into remote areas to find dogs in need. We discovered this pack deep inside the flood plains, all emaciated and unsterilized. This is where our work begins.
The bond we share with our community dogs is unbreakable. This is the welcome we get when we meet them after a week. This trust is what allows us to get them medical help when needed.
About On The Ground: Daily Feeding
Our feeding drives are the frontline of our rescue work. We use a mobile kitchen to reach underserved pockets, like the flood plains, where we provide fresh, home-cooked rice and chicken to over 700 dogs daily. This daily routine is how we spot dogs who are pregnant, injured, or sick, allowing us to plan rescues and sterilization drives before a health issue becomes critical.
Awaara nahi, hamara hai. This is not just a slogan; it is the philosophy behind every meal we serve. We don't believe in just dumping dry, processed food and leaving. Our dogs deserve dignity, which is why we serve fresh, nutritious meals that keep them healthy and active.
Why We Feed Daily
Feeding is our primary tool for intervention. When we visit a spot every single day, the dogs recognize our team and our ambulance. This trust is essential. It allows us to approach animals that are usually fearful of humans, enabling us to administer vaccines, identify those in need of medical attention, or safely trap them for sterilization. Without this bond, we would never be able to provide the long-term care these animals need.
The Reality of the Field
Our work takes us to the most difficult areas in Delhi NCR, from busy market roads to remote flood plains where there is no shelter and no one else looking out for these animals. We often find packs that have been completely forgotten, living in extreme conditions.
How You Can Help
We are always looking for support to sustain our community kitchen. Whether you want to sponsor a feeding day, join our drives, or simply report a pack in your area that needs monitoring, we want to hear from you. We treat these animals like our own because they are part of our collective community.
