Humane Community Dog Sterilization & Vaccination
We believe sterilization is the only sustainable way to manage community dogs. We handle the process using private clinics and strict pre-op blood testing, ensuring your neighborhood dogs return healthy and safe.
Collaboration is key to our success. Here is our team with the skilled veterinarians from Project DOBRO after a successful five day camp where they performed 60 surgeries, including sterilizations and tumor removals.
Our full team, including our dedicated ground staff and the visiting vets from Project DOBRO. It takes a village to do this work, and we are grateful for every person who helps us care for these animals.
Another shot of our hardworking team and the Project DOBRO vets. These collaborations allow us to conduct large scale sterilization drives and provide high quality medical care.
The team that makes it all happen. Successful sterilization camps require seamless coordination between our staff and expert veterinary partners.
This is Brownie, back in her territory in Muradnagar. We picked her up with a severe Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT). After successful treatment and recovery, she is now healthy and home.
A happy release is a successful mission. This dog, now sterilized and vaccinated, is being returned to his familiar surroundings and the care of his local feeder.
The life of an animal welfare worker is full of challenges. This post explains how we achieved 100% sterilization in a colony through private funding, only to face new issues like illegal relocation and abandonment by residents, and failed sterilizations by the MCD.
About Our Sterilization & Vaccination Process
We do not take risks with anesthesia. Every dog receives a mandatory full blood profile (CBC and Biochemistry) before we proceed, because we value their life over a quick turnover. If a dog is not fit, we wait, provide care, and only then sterilize. This is the clear difference between a government shelter and our private clinic standard, ensuring zero trauma and 100% safety.
Our approach to sterilization is rooted in the belief that these are not just strays, but members of our community. 'Awaara nahi, hamara hai' is not just a slogan; it dictates every step of our process. When you book a sterilization drive with us, you are opting out of the trauma often associated with overcrowded government facilities.
The Process We Follow
We coordinate pick-ups using our own ambulance service across Delhi NCR. Once at our partner private clinic, the dog is not just 'fixed'. They undergo:
- Medical Screening: Mandatory blood work to rule out infections, tick fever, or anemia that could make anesthesia dangerous.
- Surgical Safety: We use high-quality absorbable sutures and sterile kits in a controlled clinic environment, not a chaotic shed.
- Post-Op Care: This is where we differ most. Every dog stays for 3 to 7 days of monitored recovery. We provide painkillers, antibiotics, and daily fresh meals (Rice & Chicken/Curd) to ensure the surgical site heals properly.
Vaccination & Immunity
Sterilization is just half the battle. We also run on-site vaccination drives for community dogs. We bring the 7-in-1 viral protection and anti-rabies shots directly to their territory, keeping the 'cold chain' intact in ice-boxes to ensure the vaccine actually works. This stops the spread of rabies and deadly viruses like Parvo and Distemper in your locality.
Why Private Matters
We have seen too many failed surgeries and horrific after-care situations in government centers. By using private veterinary clinics, we maintain transparency. We provide video proof upon release to their original territory, ensuring your community dogs are returned exactly where they belong. If you are caring for a pack, join us in making your area safer and healthier.
