About Custom Lehengas: Bridal & Traditional

We believe a lehenga should feel like a second skin. At my Vashi studio, we focus on the structure beneath the embroidery, ensuring every piece has the right weight and drape for your comfort. Whether we are adjusting the can-can volume for extra flair or tweaking the blouse fit, we walk through every fitting together until the silhouette sits exactly how you want it.

When I started designing at Kaara, I wanted to move away from rigid, mass-produced patterns. My approach is to blend traditional Indian embroidery with a modern sensibility. This means we use luxurious raw silk and velvet as our canvas, but we obsess over the construction. We use double-layer can-can for that perfect princess volume and heavy canvas backing on hems to ensure the outfit keeps its shape through long wedding ceremonies.

The Design Process

Whether you visit us in Vashi or we connect online, the journey starts with a conversation about your vision. If you have a specific motif like a lotus or peacock you want to incorporate, we sketch it out before the needles touch the fabric. I want the garment to reflect your personality, which is why I involve you in the fabric selection and embroidery density choices.

Styling and Craft

We mix techniques freely. You might find a traditional bandhani dupatta paired with a blouse featuring modern zardosi or french knots. For brides, we build 8-12 panel lehengas that balance weight and flair, while our festive range focuses on vibrant colors and lighter fabrics like organza or georgette. My studio handles the entire process, from selecting the base fabric to the final handover. You know exactly who is working on your garment at every step, and that transparency is what leads to outfits that our clients tell us are better than they imagined.
