Every outfit tells a story through thread and fabric. Explore the hand-painted details and zardosi work that define our studio's signature style.

This hand-painted and embroidered lehenga is wearable art. The design features majestic peacocks and delicate lotus motifs, brought to life with intricate beadwork and embroidery on a vibrant, multi-hued skirt, making it a true masterpiece.

An ode to heritage, this earthy brown lehenga features stunning elephant motifs embroidered in zardosi and threadwork around the hem. The matching blouse is adorned with delicate floral patterns, creating a look of grounded elegance.

About The Art of Craftsmanship

We focus on placement embroidery, which means we map out motifs like elephants or lotuses to align perfectly with the cut of your lehenga or kurta. It creates a cleaner, more deliberate look than scattered motifs, ensuring the intricate zardosi and cutdana work complements your frame rather than overwhelming it.

Our Approach to Wearable Art

Designing clothes at Kaara is akin to painting on canvas. Because we specialize in custom ethnic wear, we do not just rely on standard patterns. We build the design around the specific motif or technique you prefer.

Signature Techniques

  • Hand-Painting: We use fabric paints to create detailed landscapes, birds, and floral scenes directly on the fabric. These pieces are then highlighted with beadwork to add texture and depth.
  • Zardosi and Aari Work: Our artisans use metal threads (zardosi) and needle-point embroidery (aari) to create raised, three-dimensional patterns. This is commonly applied to necklines, cuffs, and hem borders for a subtle yet luxurious finish.
  • Placement Embroidery: Instead of uniform all-over work, we curate where the embroidery sits. This is essential for customized bridal lehengas, where we want the focal points (like the skirt panels or the blouse back) to stand out.

Materials We Work With

Whether you are looking for a bridal lehenga or a simple festive kurta set, we select fabrics that hold weight and shape. We frequently use Viscose Silk, raw silk, and velvet for heavier work because they act as a stable base for dense embroidery like sequins and pearls. For lighter, fusion-wear projects, we prefer Net, Organza, or Georgette to maintain an airy silhouette.

Collaboration

We don't just sell outfits; we build them with you. If you have a reference or a specific colour palette in mind, share it with us. We translate your vision into a structural plan, deciding where the embroidery should sit and which fabric will best capture the design.
