About Modern French & Ombre
Achieving a seamless ombre or 'baby boomer' fade requires specific gel layering techniques to ensure the transition from pink to white looks natural. For French tips, I often recommend a stronger apex build if you prefer longer, coffin or almond shapes, as this adds structural integrity and helps prevent breakage.
The French manicure and ombre styles remain my most requested designs because they are incredibly versatile. A clean French tip works for daily wear, while a metallic or neon-tipped variant can completely change the vibe for an event.
At my Kharghar studio, I specialize in both. If you are after the 'baby boomer' look, we use a custom sponge-gradient technique with high-pigment gel polish to ensure the fade is perfectly smooth. For those who want more edge, I frequently use chrome powders or cat-eye gels to elevate the classic French tip into a modern statement.
My process always starts with proper preparation. Whether you choose gel, acrylic, or polygel extensions, I ensure the nail plate is buffed and the cuticle is clean before we begin the design.
