Aerial Drone Cinematography for Brands & Destinations
High-altitude perspectives that tell a bigger story. From dramatic coastlines to property layout, I capture the cinematic scale that ground-level cameras miss.
An aerial reveal of a historic Genoese tower in Corsica, built to defend against pirates. Drone videography is perfect for showcasing historical sites and their relationship to the surrounding landscape.
A sweeping drone shot overlooking the ochre cliffs and village of Roussillon, France. This type of aerial view establishes a strong sense of place for any destination feature.
The iconic Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, framed by lush forest. My aerial work aims to capture world-famous landmarks from a fresh, cinematic perspective.
Flying through the red rock canyons of Roussillon. This dynamic drone footage gives a viewer the feeling of soaring through the landscape, creating an immersive travel experience.
An abstract, top-down view of ocean waves. I use my drone not just for landscapes, but also to capture compelling textures and patterns in nature that can be used as beautiful, atmospheric B-roll.
About From The Air
It is never just about getting height. I use the DJI Mavic 3 to find angles that ground shots simply cannot reach—like the curve of a coastline or the exact integration of a hotel property into its environment. This adds necessary cinematic context to a narrative, showing the viewer exactly where they are before we move in for the intimate details.
storytelling from above
Aerial footage should do more than just look down. Whether it is showcasing the relationship between a historic tower and the sea in Corsica or mapping the red cliffs of Roussillon, the goal is narrative. I treat the drone as a flying camera rig, not a toy. By flying low and slow, I can capture dynamic shots that mimic movement through a space, giving the viewer a sense of travel and exploration.
why it matters for hospitality
For luxury hotels and resorts, context is everything. You need to show the location’s true scale—where the resort ends and the ocean begins, or how a property is tucked into the landscape. This type of cinematography creates the 'hero' shots that define a brand's travelogue, making the destination look and feel as expansive as it actually is.
technical specs
I fly the DJI Mavic 3 for its stability and cinematic color depth, which matches seamlessly with the Sony A1 and Leica footage in post-production. Everything is shot in 4K, ensuring the detail holds up on large displays. When I am on-site, I also look for abstract patterns—the texture of ocean waves or the geometric lines of architecture—to break up the standard wide shots and create a more rhythmic edit.
David Courbit
hey, i'm david—most people just call me jetlag. i don't believe in just hovering over a property; i treat every drone shot like a cinematic sequence that establishes the setting. if you need to show the scale and personality of your location, this is how we do it.
