Cinematic Hotel & Hospitality Stories
i film and photograph luxury hospitality, capturing the mood and real-life stories behind the architecture.
A project for the Sofitel New York, celebrating their partnership with the Philharmonie de Paris. This film captures the sophisticated atmosphere of a rooftop event, blending brand promotion with authentic lifestyle moments.
This film for The Plaza Hotel in New York focuses on their family-friendly experiences. It shows how I can tailor content to a specific audience, capturing the joy and luxury of a family stay.
A lifestyle shot from a campaign with Tom Ford Beauty at Amanjena, Morocco. I work with models and influencers to create images that feel natural and aspirational, placing the person within the hotel's distinct environment.
About Cinematic Hotel Stories
i don’t just walk into a space and start shooting. i spend time observing how the light hits the architecture and how guests naturally move through the lobby or lounge. this is about finding the mood that makes a stay feel like an experience, rather than just selling a room layout.
most hotel marketing feels staged. my goal is to break that pattern using a cinematic language. i rely on a mix of sony a1 sensors for high-speed lifestyle capture and leica optics for that distinct, moody texture. when i’m on location at places like the sofitel or the plaza, i’m looking for the quiet details—the condensation on a cocktail glass, the shadow stretching across a staircase, or the way a family navigates a grand entrance.
i treat every project as a short film first, stills second. we plan the shot list based on your property’s narrative. if you need drone footage to establish scale, we fly. if you need underwater textures for a resort, i’m in the water with the housing. all final assets go through final cut pro and lightroom with my signature grading to keep that filmic, authentic look consistent across your social grid and website.
David Courbit
i’m david, but most people just call me jetlag. i treat every hotel property like a film set, looking for the light that defines a stay rather than just documenting the furniture.
