About Watercolour Painting
Watercolour is all about controlling the balance of water and pigment. We start by learning how different paper weights react to moisture, as this determines how your colours settle. I guide you through layering, from soft initial washes to the deeper shadows that give your work depth.
In these classes, we break down watercolour painting into manageable steps. Beginners usually start with basic shapes and colour mixing, while those with some experience can dive into specific techniques like wet-on-wet or wet-on-dry painting. We explore various subjects, from landscapes and florals to portrait sketching.
I emphasize understanding light sources, as that is what makes a painting look realistic. Whether you are at my studio in Indiranagar or joining my online sessions, the focus remains on your personal progress. I keep my batches small, between 4 to 6 students, so I can give you individual feedback on your brush control and composition during every session. You will need your own kit, including a good sketchbook and paints, but I provide the space and support to help you practice regularly. It is not about painting perfectly the first time. It is about building the habit and enjoying the process.
