About Complete Bathroom Makeovers
I do not believe in cosmetic fixes. Most bathroom issues in Mumbai come from poor waterproofing or bad plumbing behind the tiles. I strip the area down to the RCC slab, apply fresh waterproofing, and re-do the plumbing lines before installing your new vanity or shower fixtures. It is the groundwork that stops leaks later on.
The Process Behind the Transformation
When I take on a bathroom renovation, my goal is to build a space that stays functional and looks good for years. Because bathrooms are high-moisture zones, I use specific materials and techniques to prevent long-term damage.
Waterproofing and Civil Work I start by removing existing debris and old plumbing. Before any tile goes up, I apply professional-grade waterproofing chemicals. I verify the drainage slopes and ensure that plumbing points are shifted or replaced if they are old. This stage is messy, but it is necessary for a leak-free home.
Custom Storage and Vanities Standard bathroom vanities often swell from humidity. I build custom vanity units using IS:303 BWP (Boiling Water Proof) Marine Grade Plywood, which holds up against water. Whether you want a floating vanity to make the floor look bigger or a floor-to-ceiling cabinet for hidden storage, I design it to fit your specific layout. I use soft-close hinges and channels from brands like Hettich or Hafele to ensure drawers open smoothly.
Finishes and Lighting
- Tiles: I work with large-format GVT or PGVT tiles. These have fewer joints, which makes cleaning easier and the space look larger.
- Showers: I can build custom wall niches into your shower area, so you have a sleek, built-in spot for shampoo and soap without needing clunky plastic racks.
- Lighting: I focus on task lighting. A backlit LED mirror combined with concealed strip lighting makes the bathroom brighter and easier to use.
Common Questions
How long does a full bathroom renovation take? It depends on the scope, but generally, a full overhaul involving demolition, plumbing, waterproofing, and tiling takes about 10 to 15 days.
Can you handle plumbing modifications? Yes. I manage the entire civil and plumbing scope. If you need to move the toilet or shower point, I handle that as part of the overall project.
What materials do you use? I exclusively use BWP marine-grade plywood for any woodwork to ensure it survives the bathroom environment.
