Cinematic Brand Narratives and Film Production
I believe that every brand has a soul waiting to be captured on film. I bridge the gap between street-level grit and high-end studio polish to tell your story in a way that feels honest, raw, and visually cinematic.
My collaboration with Fujifilm, "The Stars of a Quiet Struggle," is a personal project that became a brand film. It's a visual story about the resilience of Mumbai's people, shot with the GFX 100RF to capture the raw, unfiltered poetry of the streets and studio.
About Cinematic Brand Narratives
Every cinematic project I undertake is built on a specific framework to ensure the final output feels authentic. Regardless of the scale, I personally lead the creative direction, working with a specialized crew of 10 to 12 people to manage lighting, art direction, and sync sound. This structure allows us to maintain a cinematic aesthetic, whether we are in a studio or a chaotic street location, ensuring the film remains grounded rather than appearing staged or artificial.
My Approach to Brand Storytelling
Filmmaking is about more than beautiful frames; it is about chasing a feeling. When I work with a brand, I start by finding the human element. My goal is to strip away the noise and discover the core message that needs to be communicated. This process is deeply collaborative, relying on a solid team of DOPs, stylists, and production experts who bring every vision to life.
How We Work Together
My production style varies based on the needs of the narrative, but the philosophy remains consistent:
- Studio Fashion & Commercial Films: We use high-contrast editorial lighting with specialized gear like RED or Fujifilm systems. I focus on rhythmic editing synced to music, perfect for campaigns that need high energy or a mood-based impact.
- Narrative Location Films: For deeper stories, we take the production to heritage properties or textured urban landscapes. Here, I focus on natural light manipulation, depth-of-field, and professional sound design to build a truly immersive, lived-in experience.
The 'Less is More' Philosophy
I have learned that making something look effortless is the hardest part of the craft. Whether I am shooting an eyewear campaign for a major label or a personal narrative like 'The Stars of a Quiet Struggle,' I prioritize raw, unfiltered moments. I avoid excessive production, choosing instead to let the emotion and the shadow do the talking. My team handles all the technical heavy lifting—from scriptwriting and art direction to theatrical-grade color grading—so that you get a product that is polished, professional, and entirely true to your brand’s voice.
