About Portfolio & Creative Shoots
When we do a photoshoot, the lighting works very differently than it does at a typical wedding venue. I often use a slightly heavier base and more intense contouring during these sessions to ensure the makeup pops on camera. If you are planning a portfolio shoot, please bring your outfit references early so we can discuss whether you want a soft, editorial vibe or something high-impact.
Creative shoots are where I really get to play with my kit. While my day-to-day work often involves the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of weddings, these portfolio sessions allow me to slow down and focus on technical details like graphic liners, glitter placement, and advanced skin finishes.
Why Portfolio Shoots are Different
For a regular event, makeup needs to last 10 hours through heat, dancing, and meeting hundreds of people. For a shoot, we are catering specifically to the camera lens. This means I focus on:
- Texture Control: Using high-pigment products that don't look chalky under studio lights.
- Precision Details: Sharp winged liner and clean cut-creases that stand out in close-up shots.
- Hair Styling: Creative buns, bouncy curls, or sleek ponytails that hold their shape for hours, even with constant movement.
My Approach
Whether you are a model building your book or just someone who wants a high-fashion look for a milestone, we start with a consultation. You can come to my studio in Dongri, or I can travel to your shoot location across Mumbai. We will decide on the vibe—whether it is a soft, dewy look or the dramatic Pakistani-style glam I am known for.
I always recommend having a mood board ready. It helps me understand the mood you are going for, and I can suggest the right colour palette for your eyes and lips to match. Remember, I use professional-grade, high-quality products, but the best results come when your skin is prepped. Please make sure to be ready on time so we can maximise the hours for the actual shoot, not just the prep work.
