The Dancer & The DJ: My Philosophy
Dancing and DJing aren't separate for me—they're the same rhythm. Here’s a look into my discipline, my process, and why I approach the decks like I’m in a battle.
In this interview, I talk about my journey from being a dancer to a DJ and how both are connected. I explain my training schedule and how I prepare playlists, giving you a deeper look into my mindset and work ethic.
Just smile and spread happiness. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about. This photo captures my personality and the positive vibe I try to bring to everything I do.
I also create my own mixes to share the music I love. This is the cover for a house mixtape I did, which you can check out on SoundCloud. It's another way for me to share my passion for music.
About this collection
When I'm prepping a set, I don't just pick random tracks. I build playlists the same way I structure my dance training—Mondays for groove, Tuesdays for footwork. Whether I’m behind the console at a club or DJing a high-stakes dance battle, I’m listening for the same things: the phrasing, the energy, and the pockets in the music that force people to move.
People often ask if DJing and dancing are two different jobs. For me, they aren't. They’re the same rhythm, just expressed differently. My style as a DJ grew directly out of the years I spent building playlists for my own practice nights. I learned early on that you don’t just play tracks; you understand what makes a body want to move.
My sets aren't your typical commercial wedding mixes. I dig deep into Hip-Hop, Amapiano, and specific genre cuts that serve a purpose—whether that’s fueling a cypher, keeping the energy consistent during a 1-on-1 battle, or hitting the right vibe for an after-party. Because I’m a dancer, I understand 'musicality'—I know exactly when a track needs to drop to get a reaction.
Discipline is the foundation here. I apply the same logic to my DJ sets that I do to my dance workshops. I don't believe in just showing up and pressing play. I prepare, I research, and I study the crowd. If you're organizing an event, you need someone who understands the flow, not just the volume. From the prelims of a dance battle in Delhi to club nights across the NCR, my focus is always on the energy exchange. If you see me behind the console, expect curated music, disciplined mixing, and zero dead air. That’s the mindset I bring to every gig.
