About The Wedding Vows
I know that rituals like the Pheras or Anand Karaj are personal, not public performances. That is why I use silent, high-end mirrorless cameras to capture these intimate exchanges without ever interrupting the sanctity of your ceremony.
For the past 30 years, my focus during a wedding has been on the 'why' behind the moment. Rituals are the heartbeat of an Indian wedding, and they demand a photographer who understands the flow of the ceremony. Whether I am shooting a traditional Hindu wedding in a Delhi banquet hall or an Anand Karaj at a serene Gurudwara, I anticipate the key transitions—the way hands clasp during the Pheras, the specific look of joy during the Jaimala, or the solemnity of the blessings.
My approach is to remain invisible. I do not ask couples to stop and pose while they are mid-prayer or mid-vow. Instead, I position myself to catch the raw emotion as it happens. I work with a team that respects the spiritual significance of these hours. We utilize low-light capabilities on our equipment to ensure we can capture these details even in the dim lighting of a traditional Mandap or a crowded venue, without relying on distracting flashes.
I have traveled from the busy streets of Delhi to the mountains of Bhimtal and the palaces of Jaipur to document these vows. Each location offers a different light and a different set of challenges, but the goal remains the same: to give you images that pull you right back into the exact feeling of that minute. If you are worried about how a photographer will navigate your specific family traditions, let us talk about it. I treat every ceremony with the same care I would for my own family, ensuring that the history of your day is preserved with dignity.
