Haldi, Mehendi & Sangeet: Capturing the Energy of Your Wedding
Weddings are festivals, not just events. I document the Haldi, Mehendi, and Sangeet, those high-energy chapters where the real emotion of your story unfolds.
Celebrating each other with every prayer the haldi contains. A beautiful shot of the couple and their family showering them with flower petals.
The dance floor is where stories of joy unfold. I captured this moment of pure, uninhibited happiness as Aida and Karan celebrated their love at Mallu Farms, lost in the music and in each other.
Haldi suits her! The bride's face is covered in turmeric, and her laugh is infectious. A perfect candid moment from a fun haldi ceremony in Bhimtal.
A candid shot of a guest and the bride sharing a playful dance moment. It's these unscripted interactions that add so much life to a wedding story.
Smiling through every moment of this beautiful journey. The groom is lifted by his friends during the haldi ceremony, a picture of pure joy.
Her armor is her bridal look. The bride dancing with a drink in her hand, enjoying her sangeet night to the fullest.
When fun and traditions mix, wonders of laughter happen. This film captures the fusion of things you love, from a playful pool party to a vibrant haldi ceremony.
A grand entry with yellow smoke bombs, this photo captures the couple's stylish and fun entrance to their pre-wedding function.
In their bubble with flowers, she shows off her mehendi. A beautiful portrait of the bride during her mehendi ceremony at a destination wedding.
A playful moment during the haldi ceremony, with the couple seated in large lotus-shaped pots, laughing as they are covered in turmeric.
About Festivities & Celebrations
For these functions, I do not set up the shots. You will see me blending into the crowd, waiting for that split-second look between you or a messy, honest burst of laughter during the Haldi. My approach is to keep the energy high but the camera quiet, so you can enjoy the music and the rituals without feeling like you are on a film set.
Haldi, Mehendi, and Sangeet are where the raw emotion happens. Unlike the wedding ceremony which has a set structure, these events are free-flowing. My 30 years in the industry have taught me that the best photos are not staged. During a Sangeet, I focus on capturing the vibration of the dance floor and the reactions of your family rather than just posed portraits. For Haldi, it is all about the mess and the unfiltered happiness, the turmeric-covered faces, and the playful chaos that defines these traditions.
I use mirrorless cameras with excellent low-light performance, which is vital for the indoor lighting often found at Sangeet nights. This allows us to keep the atmosphere authentic without using harsh flash that ruins the mood. Whether you are hosting a large event at a farmhouse in Delhi or planning an intimate destination wedding in Bhimtal or Jaipur, I work to make these functions feel like a movie without interrupting the party. I am there to watch, anticipate, and capture the real bits that you might miss while you are busy being the life of the party.
