My Boy Thor: From Companion to Competitor
Meet Thor, my American Pitbull and the first in India to clear the PSA PDC on suit. His journey from my puppy to a competition-level athlete shows exactly what is possible with patience, drive, and the right approach to training.
This is the proudest moment, Thor competing in a PSA trial. He is executing a complex off-leash heeling pattern with precision, showing the focus and control we worked so hard to build.
Here is more of Thor's obedience routine from the PSA trial. He is performing commands like 'platz' (down) and 'heel' under the formal judgment of an international dog sport competition.
This was at the Canine Welfare Organisation obedience show where Thor and I performed. He won 2nd prize in his category and 3rd overall. It's always a great feeling when our hard work pays off.
A focused heel with my boy Thor. This is the connection and partnership I strive to build with every dog I train.
Even with a ball present as a major distraction, Thor remains in a calm 'sit' until I give the next command. This is what I call top training and impulse control.
Here we are at Petfed Delhi. Thor is calm and well-behaved even with all the crowds, noise, and other dogs around. This is the result of real-world training and socialization.
The look of a dog that is happy to work and completely focused on his handler. This is the bond I build.
This is me with my baccha, Thor. A dog that is focused on its handler is a dog that is ready to learn and listen. This bond is the foundation of all my training.
About My Boy Thor: From Companion to Competitor
People often assume that breeds like Pitbulls are naturally aggressive, but the reality is all about how you channel their natural drive. With Thor, I did not use force. Instead, I relied on structured play, luring techniques, and clear markers to build rock-solid focus. That same process—turning natural energy into controlled, reliable obedience—is how I help every dog I train, from young puppies to high-drive working breeds.
When you see Thor executing a perfect heel or holding a command while a ball sits just inches away, you are seeing the result of consistent, modern training. This is not about breaking a dog's spirit; it is about building a partnership. Whether you are dealing with a new puppy or an adult dog, the goal is always the same: a dog that listens because it wants to, not because it is afraid.
My training methodology is centered on positive reinforcement. We use the 'Box Method' for body awareness, verbal markers like 'Shabash' or 'Good' to communicate success, and consistent luring mechanics. This builds a dog that is confident in new environments—whether that is a crowded park, a vet clinic, or a busy street in Delhi.
I treat every dog I work with as an individual. For some, we focus on basic manners like impulse control and 'place' commands to make life at home smoother. For others with higher drive, we move into off-leash obedience and sport preparation.
My role is not just to train the dog, but to coach the handler. I want you to be the one who can manage your pet in any situation. If you have been struggling with a specific behavior or just want to take your dog’s obedience to the next level, let’s talk. I travel across Delhi NCR to work directly with you and your dog in your own environment.
