From a corporate career to a creative studio, here is the story of how I started making eco-resin art and conducting workshops in Bangalore.

From a corporate career to crafting dreams with love. I started Hues of Memories in 2016 after a life-changing accident, and today I am a proud mompreneur who has taught over 500 people and fulfilled thousands of orders.

Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Swati, the artist behind Hues of Memories. Art became my therapy after an accident, and now I make and sell handmade products, teach workshops, and share my journey with you.

When I left my job to pursue this full-time, my parents were unsure. But seeing my passion, they became my biggest supporters. Now, I am working hard to build a business my father can be a part of when he retires.

Juggling being a small business owner, a mom, and a homemaker can be overwhelming. Self-doubt creeps in, but I am determined to show up every day and build my dream life, one step at a time.

My journey started with a simple idea to add candles to my eco-resin jars. This video shares my story of learning through trial and error, a process that reignited my passion and is something I share openly in my workshops.

Here is a precious moment caught on camera. Sharing the magic of demolding with my son. His "wow" reaction is my favorite part, and he even makes me smell the piece as if it is a candle.

This is a review of my business for the month of July. I believe in being transparent, and I am deeply thankful for every single order and workshop participant that supports my small business.

About this collection

Leaving a corporate career in 2019 to dive into eco-resin art was a scary leap, but one that changed my life. I have learned that the perfect studio is not built in a day. It is built through late nights, plenty of trial and error with materials like Beyond Mix, and a lot of honest mistakes that eventually taught me how to create home decor pieces that truly last.

My creative journey really began in 2014 after a life-changing accident. While I was bedridden, art became my therapy. What started as simple greeting cards for family slowly evolved into Hues of Memories.

The Shift to Eco-Resin

In 2019, I finally quit my corporate job to focus on this full-time. Moving to Hyderabad and then back to Bangalore was a roller coaster. I started working with eco-resin because I wanted to create something sustainable and non-toxic. Using Beyond Mix for marbling, terrazzo, and color blocking became my signature style. It is pricey, but the quality is unmatched.

Beyond Just Products

I realized that my community wanted to learn how to do this too. That is how the workshops started. Whether it is an offline session in HSR Layout or a live Zoom class, I teach everything from bubble-free pouring to business pricing. I do not just teach the craft; I share the reality of the business—the good, the bad, and the courier struggles.

Balancing Acts

Being a mom, a homemaker, and a solopreneur is not easy. Some days, I prioritize my son Aariv over business, and that is okay. My business is not just about sales; it is about building a life I love. I am deeply thankful for every student who joins my workshop and every client who orders a custom hamper. Chalo, seekhte hain (Come on, let's learn) and create something beautiful together.

Hi, I am Swati. I traded my corporate ID for an apron and a bag of eco-resin. I am just a mom living her dream in Bangalore, making sure every candle and coaster I create feels as special to you as it does to me.
