My Story & Process: How I Preserve Your Memories
Behind The Olive Lane is just me, Pragya, working from my home studio in Bangalore. My process is intentionally slow, focused on turning your flowers and keepsakes into art that lasts.
Meet the team behind Olive Lane. It's mostly me wearing all the hats, from artist and model to packer and shipper. And of course, I couldn't do it without my husband, the investor and free labor.
It hurts to see special flowers ruined by mold because they weren't dried properly. I take great care in my process to ensure your flowers are perfectly preserved so your beautiful keepsake stays beautiful forever.
A quiet afternoon in my studio, packing orders. Each piece is made, checked, and wrapped by my own hands. It always feels special to send these slow-made creations off to their new homes.
There's a big difference in how orders are packed. As a small business, I believe every detail matters. I take the time to wrap each item with care and thoughtful touches because every order is a dream you are supporting.
I recently packed three orders for three different people with three different stories. Whether it's a college friend, a long-time customer, or a new follower, I'm so grateful for every single person who supports my handmade business.
When clients keep coming back for more, it's the greatest compliment I can receive. It means they felt the emotion behind my work and trust me again with their precious memories.
Come assemble a custom initial lamp with me. This piece preserves a couple's engagement garland, lighting up their initials and wedding hashtag. I love seeing these unique ideas come to life.
Even after all the careful work, mistakes can happen. I accidentally used the wrong text on this lamp base, but thankfully, I was able to carefully remove it and add the correct date for the final piece.
I preserved a client's "first rose" in this resin cube as an engagement gift for her cousin. It was created in layers over several days because a memory this important deserves all the time and effort.
"And then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?" I love this quote by Van Gogh. Here I am drying flowers sent by a client, the first step in creating a piece of art for them.
About My Story & Process
People often ask why my work takes time, and the answer is simple: I don't believe in shortcuts. Whether it is meticulously removing mold from a petal before it compromises the flower, or spending days pouring resin layer by layer to ensure a bubble-free finish, I treat every item like it is my own. Because I handle everything from the initial drying to the final polish, I can guarantee that what you receive is not just a product, but a memory that has been checked and packed by me, specifically for you.
My Slow-Made Process
It all starts with your flowers. When you send your varmalas, bouquets, or engagement flowers to my Bangalore studio, the first step is professional dehydration using silica sand. This is the step most people overlook, and it is exactly why so many resin pieces eventually turn brown or moldy. I dry the blooms until they retain 80-90% of their original color and shape. It is a slow, patient process, but it is the only way to ensure your keepsake stays beautiful for years.
Artistry in Resin
Once the flowers are ready, I move to the resin pouring. I use high-gloss, non-yellowing epoxy resin, carefully layering it to create a crystal-clear, glass-like encasement. Whether you have chosen a 16-inch teakwood frame for your wedding garland or a small pendant to preserve a pet’s fur, I personally hand-sand every edge and apply a polished top coat for perfect optical clarity.
The Human Touch
I am not a factory, and I am not an algorithm. I am one person who deeply cares about the stories you trust me with. Sometimes, resin can be unpredictable. If I notice a bubble or a mistake, I start over. I have personally removed vinyl text and re-applied dates to ensure your lamp or tray is perfect. When you receive your order, it comes in shock-resistant packaging designed to keep your memory safe during transit, along with a note from me. If you have a specific story, a date, or a custom request, just reach out. I do not use templates; I use your story to create something that feels like home.
Olive Lane by Pragya Arya
I'm Pragya, the person behind every single piece at The Olive Lane. I run this entirely on my own from my Bangalore home, keeping the process slow and personal because your memories deserve attention, not mass production.
