My Creative Journey: Handmade Resin and Texture Art
Art is not just about the final piece for me; it is about the messy, honest process behind it. Here is a look at how I turned a passion for textures and resin into my daily reality.
Pov: main hu snehasherart ki malkin. From doing art in my room to running a studio and teaching others, this journey has been incredible. Being an artist and a business owner is the best feeling.
Capturing process videos is difficult, but this one has my heart. Here I am adding depth to a massive 8-foot resin wall art piece with 18k gold. Bahut mehnat lagti hai, but it's worth it.
Handmade is heartmade. This video shows some of my favorite creations, including a custom resin clock made with preserved wedding flowers and a personalized ocean-themed nameplate.
This is how my brain sounds when I do art, just pure focus. Here, I'm sampling a color combination that a designer wanted for a custom textured art piece.
This texture art box taught me not to give up. I made mistakes, had to scrap the whole thing, and remake it. But in the end, it turned out so beautiful and the process taught me so much.
Sometimes things go wrong. On day two of this project, the putty started falling off the box. I had to scrape it all off and start again, but it's all part of the learning process of handmade art.
I found this old whiskey box and decided to give it a new life as a DIY texture art box. This is day one, where I'm applying the paste and creating patterns. It's the most relaxing part of the process.
About this collection
My studio is where the magic happens, but it is also where the mistakes live. Take my recent texture art box, for example. I had to scrape the entire thing off and restart because the putty mix was not quite right. That is the reality of handmade art—it is rarely perfect on the first try, but that is exactly how I learn to make something that truly lasts.
When I started doing art in my room, people told me it could not be a business. Today, I am proof that art can be a business if you put your heart into it. Whether I am mixing pigments for a large-scale resin wall installation or teaching a beginner how to hold a palette knife, I bring that same 'malkin' energy—meaning, I take ownership of every single detail.
My workshops are built on the same philosophy. I do not just teach you how to paint or cast resin; I teach you how to disconnect. In my Mumbai studio, we do not worry about order numbers or strict deadlines. We focus on the therapeutic rhythm of applying texture paste and watching colors blend. I have made all the common mistakes—like over-watering the mix or not prepping the base properly—so during our sessions, you can skip the frustration and go straight to the creative high.
If you are looking for something custom, I work on pieces that are not mass-produced. From preserving wedding varmalas in resin to custom terrazzo trays, every item is handled with the same care as my own personal art. It is not just home decor; it is a story you bring into your living space. If you are bored on the weekend or looking for a way to channel your creative energy, come visit me. Let us make something beautiful together.
