I believe that art grows through dialogue. This collection showcases my collaborative projects with other dancers and companies, where different styles and perspectives merge to create unique, research-based dance-theatre productions.

A snippet from my solo section in a duet production at NCPA Mumbai. This piece, "Antardweep," was a collaboration that brought Bharatanatyam and Odissi together.

A moment from "Antardweep" at NCPA Mumbai. It was a pleasure brainstorming with Dr. Prachi Mehta Jariwala and her team of scholars to create this concept-based production.

Another shot from "Antardweep." This production explored the idea of the body as a temple, using the visual backdrop of ancient sculptures to enhance the narrative.

An invitation to "Antardweep: Inner Island of Bliss" at NCPA Mumbai. In this duet, we explored whether ancient temples were just shrines or codes hinting at the divinity within.

Audience reactions to "Unmasked," a production by the Jyotsna Shourie Dance Society. It is always wonderful to hear how the audience connects with a new outlook on an epic ballad.

The poster for "Unmasked: When Ravana Walked the Earth" at the Royal Opera House, Mumbai. I was glad to perform as part of this fantastic production.

A teaser for "Unmasked," where the director discusses reimagining the characters of the Ramayana. This production was based on the lesser-known Adbhut Ramayan.

A newspaper clipping about "Artistes Against Cancer," a fundraising event where we performed "Unmasked." It is an honor to use my art for a greater cause.

The full-page coverage in The Morning Standard for our "In Step With A Cause" performance. It highlights the collaboration between artists and the Indian Cancer Society.

About Collaborative Works & Dance Theatre

True collaboration in dance is not merely sharing the stage, but an act of translation. When I work with fellow artists like Dr. Prachi Mehta Jariwala or ensembles like the Jyotsna Shourie Dance Society, we spend weeks aligning our choreographic vocabularies. We merge distinct classical forms to explore whether ancient temples, texts, and forgotten narratives still hold keys to our modern self-discovery.

My approach to dance theatre is rooted in the conviction that an epic is never static. Whether it is the duet 'Antardweep' at the NCPA Mumbai or the large-scale production 'Unmasked' at the Royal Opera House, my collaborative work seeks to unearth questions hidden within mythology.

Collaborating requires a rigorous process of deconstruction. We analyze the shastras, debate the interpretations of characters like Ravana or Shikhandi, and then translate these findings into movement. In these pieces, the Bharatanatyam structure might dialogue with Odissi fluidness or Kathak precision, depending on the collaborator, but the narrative remains the anchor.

Why collaborative theatre matters:

  • Perspective: By integrating different schools of thought, we present a polyglot of movement that appeals to both traditional rasikas and contemporary audiences.
  • Deep Research: Each production is backed by academic inquiry, ensuring the performance is not just a visual spectacle but a contribution to Indian art scholarship.
  • Accessibility: These thematic works often include verbal introductions and contextual storytelling, making complex philosophical inquiries accessible to diverse viewers.

From fundraising performances like 'Artistes Against Cancer' at Kamani Auditorium to experimental duets, my collaborative works are designed to provoke thought and foster introspection. Whether you are hosting a cultural event or seeking a performance that bridges tradition and modern relevance, these productions are crafted to engage the heart and the intellect.
