This is the first glimpse into my world of dance, a curated selection that bridges ancient stories with contemporary questions. These pieces represent the core of my artistic inquiry, blending deep research with the raw emotion of performance. Each visual is an invitation to explore the narratives that shape my work.
The Abandoned Gopi: The Legend of Gopishwar Shiv
This solo production is born from my research into the lesser-known tales of Vrindavan, focusing on the legend of Lord Shiva becoming a Gopi to enter the sacred Raas Leela. The performance explores the depths of surrender, devotion, and the fluidity of identity, always accompanied by a live orchestra to create a truly immersive experience.
Shikhandi: The Inner Quest
This production delves into the complex and poignant story of Shikhandi from the Mahabharata, a character who is born female, lives as a man, and becomes the cause of Bhishma's end. It is a narrative of courage, revenge, and self-acceptance that forces us to introspect on societal norms, gender, and identity.
Un-Eklavya: The Riddle of the Thumb
This production is a choreographic work I ruminated on for four years, re-interpreting the Mahabharata's tale of Eklavya. It is a story of courage, of choosing our battles wisely, and questioning what is truly lost when we are asked to make a great sacrifice.
Margam & Classical Repertoire
I present the full traditional Bharatanatyam Margam, from the invocatory Pushpanjali to the concluding Tillana, ensuring a complete classical experience. My recitals often blend rare compositions with timeless classics, offering something new even for seasoned rasikas, always performed with a live orchestra.
Collaborative Works & Dance Theatre
I believe that art grows through dialogue. This collection showcases my collaborative projects with other dancers and companies, where different styles and perspectives come together to create unique dance-theatre productions.
The Creative Process: From Research to Rehearsal
Every performance is the final step of a long journey that begins with research, moves through musical composition, and is refined in the rehearsal studio. This is a look behind the curtain at the intimate, and often intense, process of bringing a concept to life.
Workshops, Lec-Dems & Educational Outreach
I believe dance is a form of scholarship, and I am passionate about sharing my research and insights with students and fellow art lovers. This collection features my workshops, lecture-demonstrations, and panel discussions across the country.
Press, Reviews & Audience Acclaim
I am humbled and grateful for the recognition my work has received from critics, the press, and most importantly, the audience. These clippings and testimonials reaffirm my faith in the path I have chosen as a storyteller and a dancer.
Inspirations: Temples, Texts & Travels
My art is deeply nourished by my travels, my study of ancient texts, and my visits to sacred spaces. The sculptures of a temple, the philosophy within a verse, or the flickering flame of a lamp can all become the seed for a new choreographic work.
