From the impenetrable forests of Bwindi to the vast plains of the Masai Mara, my lens documents the untold stories of Africa's most iconic creatures. Whether for editorial features or conservation impact, these images bring the wild closer to home.

A silverback gorilla in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda, gently smells a flower. This tender moment defies the common perception of these powerful animals, showing a softer, more contemplative side that I strive to capture.

The intense, fiery gaze of a male lion in the Masai Mara. This portrait is meant to convey the raw power and untamed spirit of Africa's most iconic predator.

An elephant mother and her calf stand together against a dramatic sky in Amboseli, with a hot air balloon in the distance. This image encapsulates the magic of an African safari, blending wildlife with a touch of human adventure.

A moment of gentle grooming between two chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, Uganda. This social bonding is a cornerstone of their society and highlights their complex emotional lives, which are so similar to our own.

A cheetah walks purposefully through a herd of wildebeest in the Masai Mara. This scene captures the tension and respect between predator and prey in the open savannah.

Using a high-key black and white effect, I wanted to portray this giraffe family in the Masai Mara with a sense of simplicity and grace. Sometimes, removing color helps to focus on the form and connection between the subjects.

A baby mountain gorilla peeks shyly from behind the leaves in Bwindi. The curiosity and innocence in its eyes are a powerful reminder of what we stand to lose if we fail to protect these endangered species.

A critically endangered Coquerel's sifaka, a type of lemur, looks down from the canopy in Madagascar. This unique, low-angle perspective emphasizes their arboreal nature and their connection to the forest they call home.

A "royal dispute" between a mating pair of lions in the Masai Mara. The raw emotion and power in this interaction is a glimpse into the dramatic and often violent realities of life in the wild.

A Verreaux's sifaka mother and baby, two lemurs endemic to Madagascar, stare out with their wide, bright eyes. Lemur societies are matriarchal, where females or "princesses" are in charge.

About African Journeys: Savannahs, Jungles, and Great Apes

When I am on assignment in Africa, I am not there to just get the shot. I am there to document the struggle and survival of species like the Bwindi gorillas or Masai Mara lions. My workflow involves deep field research, patient waiting to minimize disturbance, and a focus on visual storytelling that helps NGOs and tourism partners drive real conservation impact.
