Award-Winning Wildlife Photography and Conservation Documentation
My camera is a tool for advocacy. These awards are not just personal wins; they are a platform to give a voice to the endangered creatures I document.
I am thrilled that this photo, "Beauty of Thar Desert," won First Place in the Terrestrial Wildlife category of the 2024 BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition. It is a special honor to have an image showcasing the rare fauna of India's critical desert ecosystem receive this global recognition.
My photograph, "The Translucent Beauty," received a Silver award in the Budapest International Foto Awards. It features a Boophis Viridis frog from Madagascar, with its eggs visible through its translucent body, a testament to the wonders of the natural world.
About Awards and Recognition
Getting these shots required weeks of waiting in the field, often with just a macro lens or a telephoto setup and extreme patience. When you hire me for documentation, you are not just getting a photographer; you are getting someone who understands the animal behavior and the conservation stakes behind every single frame we capture.
Winning the BigPicture award for my 'Beauty of Thar Desert' shot was never just about the trophy. It was about highlighting the fragile, often-overlooked desert ecosystem that is critical to India's biodiversity. Similarly, the silver award for the Boophis Viridis shot in Madagascar demonstrates my commitment to macro storytelling. Capturing life through translucent skin requires precise lighting, a deep understanding of nocturnal behavior, and the ability to work in challenging, low-light environments.
Whether working with NGOs, research groups, or eco-tourism partners, I bring this same standard of rigor to every assignment. I do not just 'take photos.' I provide high-resolution, fact-based documentation that meets professional standards for annual reports, conservation campaigns, and fundraising efforts.
Ethical practice is the foundation of my work. I use the Nikon Z8 for its reliability, but equipment is secondary to the safety of the animals. I never bait animals or disrupt their habitat for a shot. My goal is to create visual assets that are not just visually compelling, but ethically sound for professional use, ensuring that the stories we tell are as honest as the wildlife itself.
