Wildlife Photography Highlights and Rare Encounters

My most powerful frames from fifteen years in the field, captured where the action is raw, wild, and completely unfiltered.

A tigress in Bandhavgarh, captured mid-leap across a forest stream. Moments like this are what we live for. It’s not just about being there, but anticipating the story as it unfolds, a skill I share with every guest on my tours.

The ghost of Kabini. This is the famous black leopard, a phantom of the forest, resting among the monsoon greens. Tracking and photographing this elusive cat is one of the ultimate wildlife experiences, a challenge I relish sharing with fellow enthusiasts.

This is Craig, one of Africa's last great tuskers, standing before the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. On my African expeditions, we don't just see animals; we witness living legends in landscapes that have remained unchanged for millennia.

The legendary Arrowhead, queen of Ranthambore's lakes and granddaughter of Machli, with one of her cubs. Following these dynasties for years allows me to share not just sightings, but the intimate stories of their lives, struggles, and triumphs.

Pure, unbridled joy. A young tiger cub in Tadoba charges through the water during a monsoon downpour. My safaris are about capturing the full spectrum of wildlife, from regal portraits to these moments of wild, playful chaos.

Fire and Ice. A tigress stands in the cool, blue waters of the Ramganga river in Corbett, bathed in the fiery glow of the morning sun. Understanding light and position is key to creating such dramatic frames, and it's a core part of my mentorship.

A leopard quenches its thirst under the cover of darkness in Africa. Our night sessions and hide photography offer a rare window into the secret world of nocturnal predators, a completely different and thrilling dimension of the safari experience.

There's nothing like a safari in the monsoon. This is what it feels like to ride through the rain-kissed jungles of Kabini, where every turn is an adventure and the forest itself feels alive. This is the immersive experience I offer.

About Featured

You will notice these images focus as much on the environment as the animal, because that is where the real story lives. I don't just guide these safaris; I mentor you on the ground. We work on predicting the cat's next move, setting your composition before the action starts, and reading the forest's rhythm so you are ready when the magic happens.

Beyond the Click

Photography in the wild is rarely about having the fastest shutter speed. It is about patience, positioning, and knowing the history of the animal you are tracking. These images represent my favorite chapters from the last fifteen years, spanning the misty monsoon greens of Kabini to the dramatic silhouettes of Amboseli.

Why These Frames Matter

  • The Narrative Approach: Whether it is Arrowhead, the queen of Ranthambore, or the elusive black leopard of Kabini, I frame every shot to tell a story. You will learn to look for the behavior that precedes the action.
  • Technical Mastery in Situ: From handling high-contrast light in the morning sun to managing gear in the pouring rain, we tackle real-world photography challenges together.
  • Ethical Tracking: My priority is always the animal's comfort. We position ourselves to respect their space, which often results in more natural, intimate behavior that you just cannot get if you are crowding the subject.

The Expedition Experience

When you join one of my tours, you are not just a passenger in a Gypsy or a Landcruiser. You are part of a small, focused group where I share everything I have learned about reading the jungle. We track dynasties, watch bloodlines unfold, and wait for that one perfect moment when the light, the subject, and the soul of the forest align. If you are ready to stop taking snapshots and start capturing stories, come find me in the wild.

Hi, I am Harsha, but most folks in the jungle just call me Catman. I have spent the better part of two decades watching predators and prey write their own history, and I run these safaris so you can do more than just watch—you can understand the drama unfolding right in front of you.
