Yoga is not a performance to be captured for a screen. It is a slow, steady journey of disciplining the body to quiet the mind. Here, we practice for internal transformation, not for the mirror.

Even after 12 years, some asanas remain a challenge if not practiced regularly. This is a reminder that the path of yoga requires patience and perseverance. Seeing a teacher fail can be a motivation for students to keep pushing without losing heart.

This is Mandalasana, a dynamic and graceful backbending sequence. It requires a great deal of strength, flexibility, and focus. This kind of practice is for when you feel ready to push your boundaries and explore the capabilities of your body and mind.

To mark the beginning of Uttarayana, we practiced 108 Surya Namaskaras. This practice is more than a physical exercise; it is a way to honor Lord Surya, the source of all life, and to deeply cleanse the respiratory system and instill a sense of calm.

About The Path of Asana

In my studio in RR Nagar, don't expect a relaxing, passive stretch. We use Iyengar-style ropes and props to enforce correct alignment, and I will be there to give you direct, physical corrections. It is demanding, but it is the only way to actually change your body and cultivate true discipline.

Many people come to yoga looking for a quick fix or a 'look.' If that is what you are chasing, you will not find it here. The path of asana is about Abhyasa (practice) and Vairagya (detachment). It is about holding a posture until your mind stops jumping from one thought to another.

Why Alignment Matters

In my studio, we prioritize alignment above everything else. Using wall ropes, chairs, and belts allows us to work safely, even if you are a beginner or struggling with old injuries. This is not 'gentle' yoga. I believe in giving clear, sometimes firm, verbal and physical corrections to ensure you understand the mechanics of the pose. My goal is to move you from lethargy to awareness.

Integrating Tradition

Our practice changes with the seasons. You will see us practicing 108 Surya Namaskaras to mark shifts like Uttarayana, which helps cleanse the respiratory system and build stamina. We do not just do postures; we understand their purpose. Whether it is a challenging Mandalasana or a simple seated pose, the focus is always on connecting the breath with the movement.

A Space for Real Sadhana

The environment in the studio—teak wood floors, the smell of fresh flowers, and the lack of distractions—is designed to help you focus. This is a phone-free, shoes-off zone where we treat the mat as a sacred space. If you are ready to put in the work, to face your physical limitations with patience, and to evolve your practice over months rather than days, then you are welcome.

I have been practicing for 12 years, but the path feels like it is just starting. I don’t teach for applause or flexibility goals—I teach to help you break through your own physical and mental lethargy. If you are looking for a studio where you can just zone out, this is not it.
