About Sibling Love
I know exactly how tricky it can be to get a young child to sit still for photos, especially when there is a new, tiny baby involved. That is why I never rush these sibling shots. I focus on making the older child feel like the hero of the session, giving them simple directions and letting them interact naturally with their new brother or sister. Whether it is a gentle kiss on the forehead or a curious look at tiny fingers, I wait for those real, sweet moments to unfold on their own.
Safely Capturing the Sibling Bond
Photographing a newborn with an older sibling requires a blend of patience and careful safety protocols. My studio in Mumbai is designed for this exact purpose, ensuring the new baby is always securely supported, often in my arms or a prop, while the sibling interacts safely nearby.
My Process for Siblings
I do not force poses. If the older child is excited, we channel that energy. If they are shy, we play games until they warm up. The goal is to get that proud smile or the protective hug that you will look back on for years.
- Direction: I guide siblings on how to hold the baby safely, usually sitting down to minimize any risk of drops.
- The Fun Factor: I treat them like friends, joking around to keep the mood light so their expressions are genuine rather than forced.
- The Details: I love capturing the size difference, the tiny hands holding big hands, and the pure wonder in a big sibling’s eyes.
