My Training Philosophy: Real Strength and Self-Defense
I do not teach fancy tricks. I teach you how to survive a real fight. Forget the ego, focus on the fundamentals, and build strength that lasts.
I used to love striking, but my mind changed when a BJJ coach completely controlled me on the ground. I realized that if a fight goes to the ground, grappling is what will save you. That's why I believe BJJ is the best.
People ask what motivates me. The truth is, motivation fades. Discipline is what keeps you going. The benefits of martial arts for your health, confidence, and self-defense are the real motivation. You just have to show up.
Sometimes, you should let your opponent pass your guard. It can be a trap. By giving up a position, you can lure them into a submission, like the triangle choke or armbar shown here. It's about strategy, not just strength.
About My Training Philosophy
You are here because you want to get better, not just look better. Forget the gym pump that disappears in an hour. Whether you are at my club in Sainik Farm or I am coming to your home, we focus on compound lifts for raw strength and drilling grappling fundamentals until they are second nature. If you are ready to leave your ego at the door, we can start.
Martial arts is not about looking cool on Instagram. It is about what happens when you are in a situation that is messy and unpredictable. My philosophy is simple: discipline beats motivation every single day. If you wait until you feel 'motivated' to train, you will never get anywhere. You show up, you drill, you tap, and you learn.
Why I Prioritize Grappling
I used to be a striker. I thought hitting and kicking was everything until I met a BJJ coach who rag-dolled me on the ground. That experience changed my life. In a real-world fight, most confrontations eventually hit the ground. If you don't know how to control that transition, you are already losing. I teach BJJ and wrestling not just for the mat, but so you can protect yourself when the space gets small.
The Strength Reality
If you want to be a fighter, stop chasing the pump. A pump is aesthetic; it fades an hour after you leave the gym. I train for power and endurance. We use heavy lifting—squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses—to build a frame that is actually capable of force. If you are 'gym strong' but get gassed out after one round of sparring, that strength is useless. We bridge the gap between lifting and fighting so you are strong when it counts.
My Training Approach
Whether you are joining my group classes at Crosstrain Fight Club in Sainik Farm or opting for 1-on-1 private coaching at your residence, the rules are the same. No ego. You will tap out, you will make mistakes, and you will get corrected. That is how you get tough. If you are ready to work, I am ready to coach.
