Raksha Sutra: A Five-Knot Rakhi for Sibling Bonds

byGoosebumpsStore at Goregaon East, MumbaiView full gallery

Our Raksha Sutra is more than just a thread. It is a promise of five sacred bonds, tied by hand for a sibling connection that lasts.

This is my Raksha Sutra, a hand-tied thread with five knots, each holding a special meaning. This video shows the intricate details of the thread, designed to be a timeless wearable that honours your bond.

The packaging of the Raksha Sutra is designed like a modern wearable, but with a traditional heart. It playfully lists features like 'Infinite Energy' and 'Gossip-Proof' to celebrate the timeless nature of a sibling's bond.

This video shows my team carefully hand-packing each Raksha Sutra. It’s a glimpse into the love and attention to detail that goes into creating these meaningful threads for Raksha Bandhan.

This image captures the 'Sneh Bandhan' or the knot of Affection. It represents the easy laughter and comfort of growing up side by side with a sibling and never growing apart.

The 'Sneh Bandhan' is the knot of love. It's the bond that softens discipline and makes the endless teasing and squabbles of childhood feel worth it.

This pinky promise represents the 'Vachan Bandhan', the knot of Promise. It’s the silent vow to stand by one another through every storm and celebrate every joy, no matter what.

The 'Vachan Bandhan' is a promise to always be just a call away. It’s a knot that carries every shared secret and all the cover-ups for pranks.

About this collection

We craft every Raksha Sutra using traditional red nada-chadi thread, chosen for its durability and ritual significance. Unlike standard Rakhis that often fray, this is a minimalist wearable designed to stay on the wrist as a lasting token of your shared bond.

Each knot carries a specific meaning. We have moved away from mass-produced designs to focus on what actually matters: the Vachan (promise), Shakti (strength), Sneha (affection), Smriti (memory), and Shraddha (devotion) knots. It is an evolution of the traditional thread, intended to be worn daily. The packaging is equally considered, created as a keepsake box that explains the significance of the five knots. Whether you are in Mumbai or shipping across India, we ensure the thread arrives secure. This is not just about the ritual of tying it on the morning of Raksha Bandhan; it is about the daily reminder of that connection. We avoid plastic beads or heavy attachments that get in the way of your day-to-day life. It is simple, rooted, and honest.
