Meet The Green Heroes Behind Our Forests
Restoration isn't just about the soil and the seeds; it's about the people who get their hands dirty. Meet the team that makes our urban forests breathe.
A big hello from some of our team members. Their passion and hard work are the driving force behind every forest we plant. They are the true green heroes.
Our team members are always ready to share their knowledge. Here, a staff member is showing a volunteer the correct way to handle a sapling during a plantation drive at Jaunapur City Forest.
A member of our team guiding a volunteer as she plants a sapling. This hands-on guidance ensures that every tree planted has the best possible chance of survival.
Our team rescued over 2500 saplings from a site in Meerut. This is the kind of dedicated, rapid-response work our team does to save plants and give them a new home in our forests.
One of our team members, in his element, guiding a group of young visitors at our Noida site. Sharing our passion for nature is the best part of our job.
Tools ready, smiles on. This is our on-ground team, the backbone of our organization. Their daily efforts in preparing the land, planting, and maintenance are what turn barren land into green forests.
About Meet Our Green Heroes
Our 'Green Heroes' aren't just tour guides. They are the same people who spend their mornings rescuing native saplings from construction sites or fixing fences to keep our urban forests undisturbed. When you walk with us, you aren't listening to a rehearsed script; you are chatting with someone who knows every tree in that patch by name because they planted it, watered it, and protected it themselves.
At Give Me Trees Trust, our team is the heart of the movement. We don't believe in just sitting in offices; we believe in the philosophy that nature knows best, provided we give it the right environment to heal.
The People Who Get It Done
Our field team consists of conservationists, local caretakers, and volunteers who operate with one goal: keep the soil healthy and the biodiversity thriving.
- The Rescuers: You will often find our team on the ground in places like Meerut or Delhi, rescuing thousands of saplings from sites where they would otherwise be destroyed. This 'rescue and rehabilitate' approach is why our forests survive.
- The Educators: During our guided walks, you are usually accompanied by someone who manages the restoration site. They can explain exactly why we don't interfere with the grass, or why specific 'dead wood' is left to decay naturally to support local insect life. It is science, but explained like a story.
What We Actually Do
- Site Maintenance: We don't just 'plant and leave.' Our team monitors soil quality and fencing across Delhi, Noida, and Pune to ensure the young saplings get a head start.
- Restoration Ecology: We treat the land as a living organism. Our team spends time fixing water drainage, prepping soil, and creating micro-habitats for pollinators like butterflies and dragonflies.
When you meet our team, expect raw, honest conversations. We don't do formal lectures. We talk about what’s happening in the forest today—what birds have returned, why the butterflies are active, and how we are turning that patch of barren land into a carbon sink.
