Guided Nature Walks Through Restored Urban Forests
Step into our city forests, breathe in fresh air, and see what happens when we let nature do its job. Join us for a walk through our restored sites in Jaunapur and Noida to discover the hidden life in our green spaces.
Welcome to our Jaunapur City Forest. This is one of our oldest and most established sites in Delhi, a vital green lung for the city where we conduct many of our nature walks and community programs.
A quiet walk through one of our green sites. This is what our service is all about: immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of a living forest, noticing the small details, and finding peace.
A glimpse of our Sector 150 site in Noida. It features a mix of dense forest trails and a thriving lotus pond, creating a diverse habitat that supports a wide range of flora and fauna.
A view down one of the main trails at our Noida Sector 150 site. The green posts are temporary supports for young trees, which will soon form a dense canopy over this path.
We create water ponds at our plantation sites to improve the land's health. They act as reservoirs, keep the soil moist, and provide a critical water source for local wildlife.
A team member tending to one of our ponds. These water bodies are ecosystems in themselves, supporting aquatic plants like lotuses and attracting a host of insects and birds.
The reflection of the forest in a pond at one of our sites. These quiet, still moments are what make our nature walks so restorative.
The edge of a newly created water body. Over time, the banks will be colonized by native grasses and plants, creating a natural, stable shoreline that blends into the forest.
This is the solution. A dense, thriving forest is the best answer to pollution, heat, and biodiversity loss. This is what we are building in and around our cities.
The solution is to let nature do what it does best. A healthy forest ecosystem is a complex, interconnected community that sustains itself. Our goal is to kickstart this process and then step back.
About Our Living Classrooms: A Tour of the Sites
These aren't just standard nature hikes; they are slow-paced sessions in our restoration sites like Jaunapur and Noida Sector 150. I will walk you through the process of how we take barren, neglected land and, by simply fencing it off and planting native species, allow a dense, self-sustaining forest to return. You will get to see the actual difference between manicured parks and a wild, thriving ecosystem that breathes.
When you walk through our sites, you aren't just seeing trees; you are seeing a living laboratory of how nature heals itself when humans stop interfering. We don't believe in over-managing. We believe in trusting the soil, the water, and the native flora to take over.
During these sessions, we focus on the small things that usually get ignored in the chaos of city life. We look at the 'ped-ved' (plants and trees) that are native to our region—like the Peepal, Neem, and Pilkhan—and discuss why these specific species are essential for local biodiversity. You will see firsthand how we use simple, natural structures like bamboo shelters and water ponds to create habitats for insects, birds, and small animals.
Whether you are joining us for a dragonfly walk, a general biodiversity trail, or a plantation visit, the goal remains the same: to slow down. If you have a camera, bring it along. The light filtering through the canopy, the insect hotels, and the quiet reflection of the ponds offer plenty of opportunities to document nature without disturbing it. We keep our groups small, so there is plenty of room for genuine conversation, questions about ecology, and learning how you can help bring more of this greenery to your own neighborhood.
