This is a little about me, Mona Shah. As a GIA-certified jewellery architect with over 25 years of experience, my vision is to see every woman own an exclusive, one-of-a-kind masterpiece. I love blending tradition with a modern twist to create your dream jewellery.
Many of you have asked about my journey, so here are a few milestones. From winning my first design award in 1998 to receiving the Golden Goals award from IBJA, it has been a long, fulfilling road of passion, hard work, and gratitude for all your support.
It was a true honor to be invited as a panelist at the 12th Gem and Jewellery exhibition in Delhi. With over 25 years dedicated to revamping heirloom pieces, sharing my insights with the industry was a moment of immense pride and gratitude.
I was thrilled to be part of the I.M.P.A. panel discussion on bridal styling. I shared my perspective on how to choose the right jewellery, considering everything from face shape and trends to the sentimental value of heirloom pieces.
A few of you asked if it's necessary for a revamping expert to be a certified jeweller. I believe having a deep, certified knowledge of gemstones and metals is crucial to protect your precious pieces and unlock their true potential, which is why I am GIA certified.
Have you ever wondered why I use velvet in some of my jewellery? It's for three key reasons: it provides a beautiful aesthetic appeal, it protects the jewellery with its soft surface, and its rich color creates a stunning contrast with the gems and metals.

About Meet Mona: The Jewellery Architect
I don't just design jewellery; I sketch it based on your life story. My GIA certification is my assurance that when we work on your old Kundan sets or gold pieces, I have the technical knowledge to safely dismantle and rebuild them without damaging the original stones or gold.
My work as a jewellery architect begins with listening to you. Whether it is a traditional kambarband sitting in a locker or a grandmother’s Kundan set, my job is to reimagine it for you. This is why I am GIA-certified. It gives me a deep understanding of how different gems and metals react to heat and pressure. This knowledge is non-negotiable when working with heirloom pieces. It allows me to safely dismantle and reconfigure your jewellery, ensuring your legacy remains intact while the style gets a fresh update.
When we meet, either at my Mumbai studio or on a video call, we look at your pieces together. I create a 2D sketch to show you exactly how we can turn something dated into a piece that fits your current wardrobe. It is about honoring the past while designing for the present, ensuring that every piece I hand over is a finished masterpiece. I believe jewellery should be wearable art, not something that stays locked away in a safe.
