A solo exhibition is a conversation with a single vision. I help you transform the gallery into a stage where an artist's full story can perform.

A vibrant photo-performance from my solo show 'No Longer A Memory'. Here, I stand with my mother and two decorated bulls against a theatrical backdrop, a scene that blends rural memory with a pop-art sensibility.

An installation view of my solo show, 'No Longer A Memory'. The gallery walls were painted in vivid colors, and we used fabric panels on the ceiling to transform the space, making it feel like you've stepped inside one of the photographs.

Dressed in character during the preview of my exhibition. For me, the artist is a performer and the opening is part of the act, blurring the lines between the art, the artist, and the audience.

With my mother, curator Joshua Muyiwa, and artist Vivek Vilasini at the opening of 'No Longer A Memory'. This show was deeply personal, and sharing it with friends, family, and the art community was a profound experience.

Artist Nandini Valli Muthiah shares her thoughts on my exhibition. She highlights the immersive curation, noting how the fabric backdrops from the photos were used on the ceiling, creating a complete world.

Artist Vivek Vilasini reflects on my artistic journey, describing my work as a unique form of 'neo-pop' that could only come from our specific cultural context.

Harish Vasudevan, Acting Director of MAP, speaks about the mix of fun and emotion in my work, sharing the story behind one of the pieces. These testimonials offer different perspectives on the exhibition.

Curator Joshua Muyiwa and I discuss the layout for 'No Longer A Memory'. The process of placing each work is a careful negotiation between narrative flow and visual impact.

About Solo Exhibitions: A World of One

When we organize a solo show, the gallery space becomes part of the narrative. For 'No Longer A Memory', we did not just hang photos; we painted the walls in vibrant, scene-setting hues and draped custom fabric across the ceiling to physically pull the viewer into the photographs. Every choice, from the specific lighting to the layout of the explanatory notes, is a decision we make to ensure the artwork is felt, not just seen.

Solo shows allow for deep dives, unlike group displays where themes can get diluted. My process begins by sitting with the artist to understand the heartbeat of their work. We discuss the intent behind the project, not just the physical pieces. This involves a transformation of the physical space, creating interactive zones, using archival printing for large formats, or even incorporating props that ground the art in a reality the viewer can touch.

In Bengaluru and beyond, I work with galleries and alternative spaces to manage the end-to-end production. This includes museum-grade framing, professional art installation, and even facilitating artist-led walkthroughs to bridge the gap between the creator and the audience. Whether it is a retrospective tracing a legacy or a debut collection, the goal is to create a seamless, cohesive atmosphere. If you are an artist or a gallery looking to stage an exhibition that moves beyond the traditional white cube, I bring the technical expertise and the theatrical lens to make it happen. We do not just display art; we construct an experience that stays with the visitor long after they leave.

I spent years as a schoolteacher and a police officer, so I know a thing or two about playing different roles. When I organize exhibitions, I bring that same theatricality to the gallery, turning rooms into stages where an artist's vision can truly perform.
