This is the first glimpse into the worlds I help create. It’s a selection that captures the essence of my curatorial style: theatrical, immersive, and always centered on a powerful story. Each piece here represents a different way I approach turning a gallery into a stage for art.
Solo Exhibitions: A World of One
These exhibitions offer a deep dive into a single artist's universe. I work closely with each artist to build an experience that fully immerses you in their unique vision, whether it's through the theatrical photo-performances of my own work, the delicate drawings of Mohit Mahato, or the intimate photography of Sandeep T K.
Themed Exhibitions: Stories in Dialogue
These exhibitions bring multiple artists or a collection of objects together to explore a central theme. From celebrating the larger than life world of South Indian cinema in 'Southern Stars' to exploring the tender bond between a mother and son in 'ME, AMMA, WE', these shows create a rich dialogue between different artworks and ideas.
Art Fairs: Taking Stories Global
I curate and present booths at major national and international art fairs, including Art Mumbai and the Seattle Art Fair. This is a vital platform for taking the stories of contemporary South Asian artists to a global audience, connecting them with collectors, curators, and art lovers from around the world.
Master Retrospectives: A Legacy on View
I have the honor of curating exhibitions that celebrate the legacies of master artists. These retrospectives, like those for Vidya Bhushan, Jehangir Sabavala, and Gulammohammed Sheikh, are comprehensive explorations of an artist's career, featuring paintings, prints, and archival materials that tell the story of their lifelong dedication to art.
Performance & Installation: Art Beyond the Frame
I am passionate about curating art that breaks free from the traditional frame. This includes immersive, site-specific installations like Archana Hande's 'WEAVING LIGHT', which uses textiles and projected light to transform the gallery, and durational live art performances like Smitha Cariappa's 'Seeing is not the same as Looking', which invite the audience to participate in a temporary, unfolding event.
Behind the Scenes: Crafting the Experience
A great exhibition is the result of a meticulous curatorial process. This collection shows the work that happens before the doors open, from initial layout discussions and hands-on installation with the artists and my team, to guided walkthroughs where I share the stories and ideas that shaped the show.
Gallery Life: People & Conversations
An exhibition truly comes to life through the people who experience it. This is a collection of moments from our openings, walkthroughs, and daily visits, showing a vibrant community of artists, students, patrons, and curious visitors engaging with art and with each other in the gallery space.
From the Archives: Special Projects & Press
This cluster offers a look into special projects, press coverage, and other highlights from the gallery's history. It includes a significant public art acquisition at the Kempegowda International Airport, features in publications like The Hindu and Indian Express, and announcements that mark key moments in our journey.
