I don't just photograph the outfit, I frame the way the fabric moves around you. Whether you want a regal look in a heavy silk saree or a playful vibe in a lehenga, I use specific lighting modifiers in my studio to accentuate the intricate embroidery and texture of your clothing. Before we pick up the camera, we discuss the mood—do you want something dramatic and moody, or light and airy? We align on that feeling first.
Photography is my way of preserving the story behind the clothes. When you wear a saree or lehenga, it is rarely just about the fabric; it is about how you feel in that moment.
My studio sessions in Bengaluru are designed to be a playground for this. I use a mix of hard and soft lighting to play with shadows, making the colors of your traditional wear pop. If the sun is playing along, we step outdoors where I use natural light—what I call the 'Surya kannu hodeda' or the sun winking—to create a dreamy, authentic glow.
