The Path of Yoga: Practice and Philosophy

Yoga is far more than physical shapes. Explore my personal journey through asana, the focus of concentration, and the quiet stillness of meditation.

"When life seems confusing, try looking at it from a different angle." This video shows my practice of Sirsasana (Headstand), a pose that literally inverts your perspective and builds focus, strength, and balance.

This video details some of my favorite shoulder-opening exercises using a wall and a yoga strap. These stretches are essential for improving posture and releasing tension from the upper body.

A flowing sequence in a park, moving into Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose). The quote reminds us that our real work is to find and remove the internal barriers we have built against love.

The journey of yoga begins with a single step, or in this case, a single pose. Here I am in Hanumanasana (Monkey Pose), a deep split that requires patience and consistent practice.

A deep backbend from a kneeling position, Ustrasana (Camel Pose) variation. This heart-opening pose helps to build flexibility in the spine and release emotional tension.

A short video demonstrating my back-bending practice at home. Consistency is key to safely deepening your flexibility and opening your heart center.

This video shows a sequence of hip-opening stretches, which are crucial for releasing stored stress and emotions. The hips are often called the body's "junk drawer" for this reason.

About this collection

You might see challenging poses in these photos, but my approach is always comfort-first. I use props like straps and wall support to ensure your body feels steady before we focus on depth. If you are a beginner or feel stiff, we start right there, using modifications to help you breathe through the stretch safely.

For me, the practice of yoga is truly about Shikore fire jaoya—returning to your roots to find the core of your existence. While the photos here showcase my personal development in asanas like Sirsasana (Headstand) and Hanumanasana (The Splits), these are merely tools, not the end goal.

Moving Beyond the Physical

Many students come to me asking how to meditate, but I often clarify the difference between dharana (concentration) and dhyana (meditation). The poses you see here are exercises in dharana. When I hold a backbend or a deep hip-opener, I am practicing concentration—fixing my mind on one point, using my breath to anchor the present moment. This concentration is the necessary pathway that eventually leads to the quiet state of meditation.

A Practice That Fits You

I conduct my sessions across Bangalore, including studios in Koramangala and Indiranagar. Whether we are working on shoulder-opening sequences to release desk-bound tension or exploring sound bath healing to calm the nervous system, my goal is the same: to help you build a relationship with your body.

We do not push for perfection. If you are looking for Hatha, Vinyasa, or a space to simply breathe, I am here to hold that space for you. You do not need to be flexible to start; you only need to show up.

I believe yoga is a personal journey of slowing down, not a race to a perfect pose. My classes focus on connecting your mind and body through steady, sustainable effort, whether we are in a studio in Koramangala or connecting online.
