About My Small Business Journey
Being a small business owner isn't always about the highlight reels. Take the time I had to pack 150 wax sachets for a wedding return favor; halfway through, I realized the fragrance wasn't perfect, so I unpacked every single piece, remelted the wax, and started over to ensure it was right. I am a bit of a perfectionist, and I would rather redo a batch than send out something that doesn't meet my standards.
Starting Plush as a college student was my way of finding therapy. It wasn't about building a massive empire overnight, but about learning the craft and sharing products that actually work. Over the last seven years, I have moved from sharing a workspace with my brother to having a dedicated setup, but the core remains the same: quality over quantity.
My process is hands-on. Whether I am formulating a new batch of goat milk soap or carefully writing out a handwritten note for your gift hamper, I do it myself. I source my ingredients from the best suppliers because I know you can tell the difference between something mass-produced and something made with care.
I am also the first to admit that this journey involves anxiety and a lot of 'what-ifs.' But when I see clients tagging me in their stories or coming back for a re-order, it makes the struggle worth it. I am not a big celebrity brand, but I am a creator who puts my heart into every order.
