Behind the Scenes: My 7-Year Handmade Journey
People see the final product, but here is the messy, real, and heartfelt process of building Plush from my home studio.
If I can do it, you can too. I was just a college student who took a risk to start her own business, and seven years later, there's no looking back.
One person, many roles. When you're a small business owner, you're the CEO, finance head, product designer, and everything in between.
The only mantra I've followed is "don't give up." Even when I fail, I learn and work harder because I truly love what I do.
A small request to everyone watching: please give small businesses a try. Your support means the world to us and helps us keep our dreams alive.
I had such a great time at the Aakriti Lifestyle Exhibition. I was so busy with the amazing crowd that I barely had time to take any pictures.
As a small business owner, you have to put on a confident smile for your clients, even when you're feeling anxious on the inside.
I love clients who shop happily and reorder. Your unconditional support motivates me to continue doing my work with all my heart.
A little behind-the-scenes of a shoot day at my home studio. It takes hours to plan, arrange props, shoot, and clean up for each product.
A day in my life. Today I stepped out to get some shipping supplies and stationery before coming home to pack orders for the day.
Passion turned into products, and here I am. This journey has been fueled by creativity, hard work, and the dream of building something real.
About Behind the Scenes: My 'Mehnati' Journey
Every order you receive is not just a product in a box, but a piece of my home studio sent to yours. From sourcing the raw herbs for my hair oils to handwriting the notes in your hampers, I handle every step myself. It is a one-woman show, and while I get nervous about every batch, knowing it is made fresh just for you is what makes the long hours worth it.
Building Plush has not been a straight line. Seven years ago, it started in a tiny room with just my mom and me, experimenting with soap recipes. Today, my home workspace is where the real magic happens.
The Reality of Handmade
People often see the curated photos on social media, but behind those shots is a very different reality. My days are a mix of sourcing raw, toxin-free ingredients like rosemary and curry leaves for my hair infusions, managing inventory, and yes, even running to get shipping supplies when I run out.
Why I Do It
I am a self-confessed 'anxious girl' who has to put on a brave face for the world. But honestly, my work is my therapy. Every time I blend a Vitamin C serum or shape a goat milk soap, I am putting my heart into it. I have faced competition from big celebrity brands, and it is tempting to want to quit sometimes. But then I get a message from a client who loved their custom hamper, and it keeps me going.
What You Get
Everything here is fresh. I do not believe in bulk manufacturing or cheap shortcuts. Whether it is my Ubtan face pack or my personalized gift hampers, what you are buying is something made by hand, by me, specifically for your needs. If you are ever curious about how a specific product is made or want to see my workspace, feel free to drop me a message. Your support does not just buy a product; it keeps a small business dream alive.
