Behind the Scenes of My Handmade Skincare
Making your skincare is my personal therapy. Here is a glimpse into how I turn natural ingredients into soaps, oils, and herbal packs from my home to yours.
A quick look at the mixing process for one of my herbal packs. I use my hands, protected by gloves, to ensure all the natural ingredients are perfectly combined.
Packing another order with love. This one includes my Papaya soap, Charcoal Tea Tree soap, and a bottle of my Hair Regrowth Oil. I use plenty of bubble wrap to make sure everything arrives in perfect condition.
Shipping out a pack of 5 Multanimitti and Charcoal soaps. I use eco-friendly cardboard boxes and my own branded stickers to add a personal touch to every order that leaves my home.
Pack an order of my handmade Papaya soap with me. From the freshly made bars to the final packed box, I handle every step myself.
A memorable moment for me as an alumna of Lady Doak College, setting up a stall at a college event. It felt amazing to come back as an entrepreneur and share my passion.
Putting up a stall in my own college as an alumna is a different feeling. It was wonderful to connect with students and faculty, sharing my handmade skincare and clothing from a fellow entrepreneur.
This was my fourth offline store experience, and it was a great learning opportunity. I got to interact with customers of all ages and understand their needs better. Thank you to everyone who visited.
A quick tour of my stall at a 3-day event at JC Residency. It was a busy and successful event, and I'm so thankful for everyone who stopped by to support my small business.
A closer look at my product display at the Lady Doak College Alumnae Meet. You can see my De-Tan pack, hair oils, face washes, and various handmade soaps.
Did you notice the new products at my stall? I'm always working on new formulas. Here you can see my Anti-Acne pack, De-Tan pack, and other favourites on display.
About From My Hands to Your Home
Every soap you see here is a labour of love. I use the traditional cold process method, which means each bar stays in my curing room for 30 to 40 days before it reaches you. This patience creates a harder, longer lasting bar that is gentle on your skin because I never rush the science or use synthetic hardeners.
When I say my products are en kaiyal seithathu, I mean it literally. Whether I am boiling the 17 herbs for my hair oil in steel vessels or mixing fresh papaya puree for a batch of soaps, I am handling every step personally. This is not a factory operation. It is a slow, traditional process that I find incredibly therapeutic.
My approach to skincare is simple. I strip away the SLS, parabens, and artificial chemicals, leaving only natural ingredients that actually work. For example, my anti-acne and de-tan packs are made of pure, preservative-free powder blends. When you order these, I pack them into eco-friendly, resealable kraft pouches, often adding a personal note because I want you to feel that connection when you open the box.
I also love taking my products to local events, like the alumnae meets at Lady Doak College. These moments are special because I get to meet you, hear what your skin needs, and explain why I choose specific ingredients like coconut oil or charcoal. It is this feedback loop that allows me to offer customization. If you have a specific skin type or a hair concern, let me know. Because I make everything in small batches, I can adjust the formula just for you. This is the beauty of choosing handmade skincare.
