Seven years of Plush. This business has helped me grow so much, from starting in a small corner of my room to having my own workspace. I'm so grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey.
I am very 'mehnati' (hardworking) and I truly love my work. Being busy with my small business is a blessing, and this work has been my therapy for the longest time.
I was just a college student who took the risk of starting her own business, and it's been seven years with no looking back. If I can do it, you can too.
This is a journey from late-night brainstorms to sunrise packaging sessions. It's more than just products; it's a piece of my heart in every package I send out.
As a small business owner, I play many roles: product designer, finance head, sales manager, and production head. I'm often working late, but I love what I do.
Here's some behind-the-scenes footage of a shoot day at my home studio. It takes hours to plan, shoot, and clear everything by myself for each product.
A day in my life as a small business owner. Today I stepped out to get shipping printouts, boxes, and stationery before heading home to pack and dispatch orders.
I usually make products fresh to order, but when I have an exhibition or flea market, I spend days prepping and packing enough stock for the show.
Unboxing new raw materials is always one of the best parts of my job. I've got soap bases, candle supplies, oils, and new molds for my upcoming festive collection.
I've noticed orders have dropped since so many celebrity brands have launched. I just want to make a small request to please give small businesses like mine a try. Your support means the world.
About Behind the Scenes: My Labour of Love
When I say everything is handmade, I mean it—I’m the one testing formulas, managing inventory, and packing every single parcel that leaves my studio. Because I make everything fresh in small batches once you order, I don’t keep old stock lying around. If you need a specific hair oil blend or want to tweak a scent for a gift hamper, just send me a message on WhatsApp; I love working directly with you to get the formula just right.
Running a small business for the last seven years has been my therapy. It hasn't always been easy—there are days when I’m playing product designer, photographer, finance head, and delivery runner all at once.
My Handmade Process
Everything is prepared from scratch in my home studio. When you order a custom hair oil, I’m not just pouring liquid into a bottle; I’m slow-cooking carrier oils with fresh herbs like rosemary and fenugreek to target specific issues like postpartum hair fall or dryness.
Why I Keep It Small
I believe in quality over quantity. That is why I don't mass-produce. When you request a custom soap, I can adjust the base to be goat milk or glycerin and add the botanicals you actually like. This approach takes more time, but it means you get a product that is made for you, not one sitting on a shelf for months.
