Why We Do What We Do
We started Econscious after a trek showed us just how much plastic ends up where it shouldn’t. Instead of just feeling bad, we decided to do something. Now, every piece we make is a little protest against waste, a little celebration of what’s possible.
How We Turn Waste Into Wow
- We collect all sorts of plastic junk - think bottle caps, wrappers, the stuff that usually gets tossed.
- It’s shredded, turned into sheets, and then hand-finished.
- Every item ends up with its own quirky pattern, sometimes looking like marble, sometimes more like terrazzo - so you’ll never see two the same.
What’s In Our Collection
- Planters: Made from recycled plastic, these add a splash of colour and are perfect for anyone who wants guilt-free green corners. Each uses about 150 grams of plastic that would otherwise end up as garbage.
- Coasters: Not your usual ones - these are conversation starters, with patterns showing off the beauty of upcycled home decor ideas.
- Photo Holders: These double as tiny vases. You can personalize them, which makes them pretty special for gifting.
- Bookshelves & Stands: Our most ambitious - one shelf uses up 5 kilos of plastic waste. Smaller stands work for gadgets too.

My Story
Hey, we’re Sonal and Vaibhav - Econscious is both our dream and our daily grind. It all kicked off on a trek, staring at mountains and piles of plastic. शुरुआत हुई थी (it started) with tiny decor pieces. फिर सोचा, अगर इंपैक्ट बड़ा बनाना है तो सोच भी बड़ी करनी होगी (if you want big impact, gotta think big). We took a leap, made benches from trash, kept hustling. No overnight fame, just small wins - like our bench reaching the President! But the real joy? Jobs created, people empowered.
