Silent Journey & Discovery Montessori Workshop
Step into your child's world for a morning. In this unique workshop, you will work with Montessori materials yourself, in silence, to gain a firsthand understanding of your child's daily work and discoveries.
Parents work together with the Golden Bead material, which introduces the decimal system. This hands on experience demystifies how children learn complex mathematical concepts in a concrete, intuitive way.

About Silent Journey & Discovery (3-6 yrs)
In this workshop, you step away from your role as a parent and into the role of a learner. By working in silence with materials like the Pink Tower or puzzle maps, you experience the same calm focus your child feels every morning. It is not just an explanation of the Montessori method, it is a physical memory of why these tools are vital to your child’s growth.
A Morning in Their Shoes
We believe that to truly understand your child’s education, you must experience it. This 3.5-hour morning session in our Cooke Town environment is designed as a 'Silent Journey'. You will spend your time observing, selecting, and engaging with the same Montessori materials your child uses daily.
What You Will Do
- Silent Observation: We start with quiet time in the prepared environment, allowing you to witness the rhythm of the classroom without the distraction of words.
- Hands-on Work: You will select and work with materials like the Golden Beads, the Trinomial Cube, or metal insets. This builds a concrete understanding of how children transition from simple sensorial tasks to complex abstract concepts like mathematics and writing.
- Guided Reflection: Following the work, we sit in a circle to discuss your experience, answer questions, and share insights with our AMI-certified guides.

Parenting often feels like a series of questions without immediate answers. By feeling the weight of the cylinders or tracing the continents on a puzzle map, you develop empathy for the concentration and coordination your child builds each day. This workshop is less of a lecture and more of a circle where we sit, learn, and grow together.
