About My Journey as an Artist
I have spent the last twenty years between my kitchen garden and the pottery wheel, and honestly, the best part of this journey has been watching others discover the same calm I found early on. Whether I am exhibiting at an art festival or guiding a student through their first wheel-thrown bowl at my Pitampura studio, I focus on the process over perfection—because the clay usually teaches us exactly what we need to know.
It hasn’t always been about gallery exhibitions or curated art shows. When I began two decades ago, it was just me, a pile of clay, and a desire to create something tangible. That simple, grounded start is why I still insist on teaching beginners at my Pitampura studio today.
My work as an artist often bridges two worlds: the private, meditative time spent in the studio, and the public, collaborative space of art festivals like the Samagam Art Fest and the 'Setu' cultural exchange. These experiences have shaped how I approach every piece—whether it is a sculptural statement piece for a collector or a simple, functional mug for your morning coffee.
I do not believe in hoarding techniques. In my pottery workshops, I cover the entire arc of the craft: preparing the clay, the mechanics of wheel throwing, and the patience required for firing. We tackle real, messy problems together. If you are looking to start your own journey with clay, or if you want to commission a piece that carries a bit of that human touch, come by the studio. Let’s make something real.
