I am truly humbled by these recognitions. It is a special journey to look back on fifty years of dedication to our beautiful Carnatic music tradition and the Tarangini Arts Foundation !!!!!!!

Receiving the S.V. Narayanaswamy Rao birth centenary award from the Sree Ramaseva Mandali was a beautiful and memorable evening. It is an honor to be recognized alongside my esteemed musician colleagues.

A cherished moment being presented with the award plaque by the Sree Ramaseva Mandali trust during their Ramanavami celebrations in Chamarajpet.

Surrounded by friends and family after a felicitation ceremony. Their support has been a constant source of strength throughout my 50-year musical journey with Tarangini Arts Foundation.

Posing with my award, a symbol of a long and fulfilling career in music. It is a joy to share these moments with the people who have been part of the journey.

A special felicitation by the Dr. Aswathnarayana Foundation in Malleswaram after my Shivaratri performance, marking 50 years of my institution, Tarangini Arts Foundation.

Shivaratri was a truly blessed day, filled with a performance at Shankar Mutt followed by this wonderful felicitation. It is moments like these that make the hectic schedule worthwhile.

Another special moment from the S.V. Narayanaswamy Rao birth centenary award ceremony. The warmth and respect from the community are truly heartwarming.

Sharing a smile during the award ceremony. Each felicitation is not just a personal honor, but a celebration of our shared musical heritage.

Holding the certificate of honor from the Sree Ramaseva Mandali. These recognitions inspire me to continue my work in teaching and promoting Carnatic classical music.

About A Lifetime of Music: Awards and Recognition

These awards represent more than just plaques on a wall. Whether it is the S.V. Narayanaswamy Rao birth centenary award or being felicitated for 50 years of the Tarangini Arts Foundation, these moments remind me why I teach. When you join my classes in Malleswaram, you are not just learning notes; you are stepping into a tradition that has been nurtured and recognized by the community for generations.

A Fifty-Year Musical Journey

Looking back at these moments, I feel so lucky to have spent my life with the veena. It has been a wild, wonderful, and hectic road. From performing at Shankar Mutt to being recognized by the Sree Ramaseva Mandali during their Ramanavami celebrations in Chamarajpet, every felicitation feels like a celebration of our shared heritage, not just a personal achievement.

Why Tradition Matters in Teaching

When I started the Tarangini Arts Foundation, my goal was to create a space where the depth of Carnatic music could be taught properly. I bring these real-world experiences—the stage craft, the sound checks, and the collaboration with fellow musicians—directly into our classroom.

My students often ask me why I emphasize the 'why' behind every composition, like the Kritis of Muttuswamy Dikshitar. It is because music is a living language. When we study theory or practice Manodharma, we are keeping this lineage alive. If you are looking for Carnatic music training that balances rigour with genuine passion, I would love to guide you.

My classes are designed to take you from a beginner level all the way to Vidwat. We focus on:

  • Technique: Proper sitting posture and the distinct Meetu (plucking) style.
  • Theory: Understanding Raga and Tala through traditional handwritten notation books.
  • Performance: Getting comfortable with microphones, sound checks, and ensemble rehearsals at venues like Chowdaiah Memorial Hall.

Whether you prefer in-person sessions at our Malleswaram studio or want to join my online 1-on-1 mentorship, I am here to help you start your own musical path. Let us make music together !!!!!!!
