Featured Veena Performances and Training
A blend of traditional Carnatic training and professional performance experience, creating a space where music comes alive in the heart of Bangalore.
This is the heart of what I do. Here you can see a glimpse into our practice sessions, where we explore the intricate beauty of Muttuswamy Dikshitar's compositions. It is always soul satisfying to dive deep into these pieces, and I find that my students enjoy these focused sessions immensely.
I believe music is for sharing, and I am incredibly proud to see my students perform on stage. This was a wonderful performance by an ensemble of eight of my students for the KCMC Haridasa Sangeetotsava at Malleswaram Ramamandira.
There is a special magic that happens when we all play together. This is a snapshot from our preparations for a major concert at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall, bringing together a large group of talented musicians from my Tarangini Arts Foundation.
Performing on stage is a conversation with the audience through music. This is a close up from a performance at the Sevasadan’s festival, a moment of complete immersion in the sound of the veena.
I was deeply humbled to be honored with a lifetime achievement award by the Sri Rama Seva Mandali trust. This recognition fuels my passion to continue sharing the rich heritage of Carnatic music.
The creation of music is a collaborative journey. Here we are during a composition session for 'Meera Tarangini', a musical production for my foundation's golden jubilee. These intimate sessions are where the real creative work happens.
Mentoring the next generation of artists is a profound responsibility and joy. I was honored to be the chief guest for my student Esha's Carnatic music arangetram, a significant milestone in her musical journey.
A quiet moment after a fabulous show at Windmills. It's always wonderful to connect with fans and fellow music lovers after a performance.
About Featured
In my Malleswaram classes, we train in a dedicated, non-AC acoustic room. This environment is chosen specifically for natural resonance, allowing you to hear the subtle nuances of the Veena strings, just as I do when practicing for my own concerts.
My approach to teaching is built on the same rigor I bring to the stage. When you join classes at Tarangini Arts Foundation, you are learning from a syllabus that bridges the gap between basic finger techniques and advanced Manodharma. We spend significant time on Muttuswamy Dikshitar compositions, ensuring you understand not just the notes, but the history and emotional depth behind every piece.
Learning is structured to be practical. Whether you are aiming for KSEEB Junior grade or preparing for a Vidwat-level performance, the path is clear. We place a heavy emphasis on proper sitting posture and Meetu techniques, as these are the fundamentals of a good sound.
Beyond the theory, I believe in the power of the ensemble. Seeing students collaborate, rehearse, and eventually perform at venues like Chowdaiah Memorial Hall is a highlight of my work. It transforms music from a solitary practice into a shared language. If you are ready to explore Carnatic music in a space that values tradition as much as it values the joy of playing, I invite you to join us.
