About Cocktail & Sangeet: The Celebration
On your sangeet night, the stage lights are everything. I don't just stand back and hope for the best; I’m the photographer who will step in to direct your placement so that when you are dancing, your expressions are perfectly lit and not hidden in the stage shadows.
The sangeet and cocktail events are unique because they are unpredictable. While the wedding day rituals follow a structured flow, the sangeet is chaotic, energetic, and fast-moving. My job is to move with that energy, not against it.
My Technical Approach
Capturing a high-energy dance performance requires more than just a camera. It needs an understanding of how stage lights interact with movement. Often, venues have deep colored gels or strobe effects that can ruin skin tones if you don't know how to balance them. My team and I handle the technical settings on the fly, so you get sharp, well-exposed shots of fast-paced steps rather than blurry silhouettes.
What We Focus On
- The Dance Floor Chaos: We don't just shoot the main performance. We look for the reactions in the crowd—the parents laughing, the siblings cheering, and the friends jumping into the frame.
- The Quiet Moments: Even at a party, there is stillness. I look for those brief interactions between the couple when the music pauses or when they share a drink away from the noise.
- Group Dynamics: If you have large families or group performances, we ensure our angles capture the full stage without losing the individual expressions.
We don't force poses during these events. If we are directing, it is purely to get you into better light or to clear a distracting background. Our goal is to let you be yourself, fully immersed in the celebration, while we document the story of the night.
